Worst teacher ever in my entire academic life. she is confusing, has her own MLA rules, set you up to hate French language, want you to write and speak French at PHD level like her though we are students learning foreigner language, JUST DONT TAKE HER CLASS.SHE IS HORRIBLE.....By the way she doesn't care about students failing her class. Gives an absurd amount of work. Easily the worst professor I've ever had just by virtue of her total incomprehension of the fact that students are not taking solely her class. Gives unclear directions and random quizzes, so don't expect to be able to study efficiently for anything. Overall, she makes me wish I didn't major in French. :(

Assigns way too many books and is anal about powerpoints. It's a powerpoint, why does my font have to be a specific size and everything perfectly indented!? Always makes everyone talk during class discussions about the books so come prepared with atleast one thing to add. Please don't take her if you don't have to..you WILL regret it.

Didn't really take 371 with her but I don't want to disclose the real one just incase she reads this (class wasn't that big). But she is AWFUL. So nit-picky, she should be teaching English because she thinks she's the best at that too besides French. Gave me the same grade (C) on my midterm after I corrected all the mistakes!! UGHHH!!!!

DO NOT TAKE HER!!! She is a good person but expects a lot from her students. She gives lots of readings, she thinks her class is the only class you are taking. Very frustrating and unrealistic amount of work. I have learned nothing but memorization, nothing stays in long term memory!!

Ridiculous expectations for a gen ed class. extremely knit picking and is always changing what she wants. OBSESSED with the format of a works cited (which is also always changing). this prof and class was a nightmare, i wouldn't wish any of it on my worst enemy.

Ridiculous. Attendance is a must and keep your work. I aced all of her assignments until, apparently, we had to turn in our work AGAIN at the end of the semester (which I had thrown away). End up with a C for all that work. In a word: B********!

This class is insane - hopefully she will change the syllabus for next year. Quizes were awful and the exams are pretty much based on memerization - I've never had a lit class so focused on exact dates and memerizing lines of poems. She is a pretty fair grader, just be prepared to work. Do the readings, participate often, and don't miss class.

in a conversation class it is good to encourage students to work hard and get better. . .but if you go to far and are too critical you may just silence them even further. I'd always done really well in french, but became really embarrassed and shy to speak it because on the first day she told me my french was not good. Blunt and harsh

PRO: Great deal of knowledge; truly wants her students to succeed; is willing to help students; If you pay attention,you will learn alot from her. CON: hard grader; tests do not test knowledge, but silly memorization; class is unorganized; she says to read "x" for a quiz, and she comes to class thinking we read "y". Very frustrating.

French is an amazing language. When forced in the wrong learning direction things just get messy. Trying to get things done is impossible. No tools and not enough teachings to get the job done. Its like having a gun and goin hunting in the dark without a flashlight. There are the great, ok, somewhat, and the bad teachers. This teacher is below bad.

Not for the faint of heart. She is demanding and grades hard, but YOU WILL LEARN from her. (You pretty much don't have a choice.) Very picky about grammar. Can be unsympathetic and is not afraid to fail you, but can also be very helpful if she understands that you care. I learned more in her class than in all my other French classes combined.

Homework assignments were barely described. I remember students always looking puzzled when she asked for homework. I think she means well, but she is not very clear. She is not afraid to fail you. Still, she presents a fantastic challenge, so take her if you dare!
