DO NOT TAKE COLEHOUR! Had to take, only night prof. She gives homework before going over the material, does not respond to emails in a timely manner, if you ask her questions in class for clarity she is rude , does not explain from the textbook but expects you to know her way and the book's. Very careless, unprofessional. Does not allow notecards.

She is the worst teacher I have ever had. She gets upset if people dont ask questions in class, but she treat you like you are stupid if you do ask a question. Its a hard subject and she teaches it as if everyone already knows Accounting. I made an A in this class because of my own ability, not her teaching ability.

Accounting is hard, but Mrs. Colehour to be nice and helpful. Quizzes are the answers from homework, and some are for bonus test points. 5 tests, and gave a notecard to use on 4 of them. The review she posts is exactly as the test. I never missed a class and came out with a B. Overall she was a pretty good teacher, and not as bad as I expected.

Professor Colehour goes over all the material on the test. Nothing was a surprise as long as you attended class and did the homework. She makes the class as simple as possible, but there is alot of information to cover in a short amount of time. I enjoyed the class and did my work and came out with an A.

There is a lot of information to take in for this class. Always be sure to do the homework, as her pop quizzes tend to be answers from the assignments. Test questions are very confusing, not critical thinking, more like trick questions. Plan on setting a lot of time aside for studying!

Do not take her! She is a very intimidating teacher. I was afraid to ask her questions the whole semester because she comes off very rude. She does not clarify things very good and is not a good professor. Google taught me more than she did! she has surprise quizzes every now and then, I would not recommend this professor!

Wow are the below statements true! WATCH OUT! She hates questions, instead of answering you she'll say read the book! She takes forever to explain the easy stuff and skips over the harder stuff due to time. And she's not against holding the class late- I'm talking up to 30 minutes here. Terrific for night classes-- not!

MCC is lacking in the acct teacher dept. For people like me, who work full time,get stuck with whatever accounting teacher will be teaching the 1 available night class -- Janis Colehour, an inconsiderate teacher, who feels that her adult college students who are paying a great deal of $, should be treated as though they are in Junior High School!!!

No understanding for family emergencies.With small children how can you be expected to plan around sickness. She went to fast and had i had no time catch up. Dropped the class after I realized she doesn't care what emergencies come up.

Mrs. Colehour is very difficult to understand. She does not care if you have a family emergency, don't even try to have your cell phone out, (even if you have kids that are with a sitter). The rules are insane it's 9th grade in H.S. If she responds to your email at all, she is very rude in her response. Do yourself a favor and take someone else.

Gets mad when you ask her questions. She is not the worst accounting teacher at MCC, but she makes it real tough, you gotta be on top on things all the time. Although on the plus side she did let us use note cards and gave us some bonus points on our final.

She is a very sweet lady but is not a great teacher. She jumps around from topic to topic and rambles on unimportant things, then rushes through harder topics because she has run out of time.If you are a diligent student and do not need much feedback or help from a teacher you will be fine.But if you struggle with math I would suggest someone else.
