Toughest Teacher for First Year Students. Art 101 is highly reccomended before you take on an alcorn assignment. If you have a life now, then you wont in ten weeks. CANt understand him in class Go to 180L class to figure out what you must do. b be present to get assingments. HE NEEDS A MICROPHONE!!

Alcorn is a fantastic teacher!! He really prepares you for what is to come in the major, and if youre not ready to handle it then dont anticipate the difficulty of the class. Spent lots of time on the projects, so be prepared, but if youre really into it than it will be fun!!

I dont know what is wrong with people. He was an awesome teacher. although his class will leave you with no social life, sleep, food, or anything in general, he is a good teacher. You should try to kiss ass because he has his favorites that always get good grades on assignments. If you dont know how to draw..then dont take this class. i warned you!

I do think his class gives you a good idea of what to expect in your future classes. However, the assignments can be vague and u only know what he expected after u have already turned something in and got a bad grade on it. Good thing is that the final project gives you an opp to fix those errors. Def make effort on ur part to ask lots of questions

Ok, I get why people don't like him. The class is extremely difficult and requires lot's of time doing homework. Usually 15+ hours a week. But he really knows his stuff and is very friendly. If you can't pass his class then dont get into a design program because it just gets harder. Expect to look forward to his class if you find design interesting

Looking back at these comments it is a lot of work, but it only gets harder. I am at the end of my second year, and he really helps get you in gear for the program... So if it's midterm and you think it's too much work... Drop now... it only gets harder!!

ARCHITORTURE is the right word. Unfortunately, he's the only one teaching this intro class. He doesn't teach you how to draw, you have to know how to draw already.

This guy should not be teaching. With a 120 students in a class and a voice like a mouse, We can't even hear his very bad "explinations". Most of the time he's yelling at us telling us what we are doing wrong, and making it very clear that only half the class with pass to third year...jerk!

this teacher doesn't have time to put for his students, he is awful at explaining things and horrible at giving feedback , doesn't usually show up to office hours, never answers emails, and their is no way to contact him, he told students to drop out if they got a lower then average grade on the first project.
