Very engaging prof. I think I spoke more and heard other students speak more in this class than any other I've taken. There were a number of readings, but they were interesting and we actually talked about the application of ideas. He gives choices on exams which was a little stressful, but I liked the options to show what I knew about the topics.

Great prof, but not easy. He believes in "target dates" for assignments which is great, but also stressful...You can resubmit assignments which is great...but also stressful because the expectations are pretty high...overall, interesting class that made me think differently about myself and college.

Great guy! cares about his students and helps with all sorts of problems. I still talk to him now after I am done with the class. Not a blowoff FYE class though, if u want a blowoff FYE DON NOT TAKE THIS ONE, lots of papers to write but you'll enjoy the class if you pay attention and don't procrastinate

The class was helpful and Jason was great. He took the time to help outside of class and even contacted me after the class was over just to see how I was doing with other classes. If you take FYE, I'd recommend Jason.

Jason is a great prof. who expects you to be self motivated. I wasn't that interested in the class, but I learned a lot. Some folks may tell you they didn't learn anything-if you don't procrastinate, you'll get it and enjoy it. The two people I know who complained didn't do anything and were mad they failed.

This class is pointless, seriouly if you choose to be a mentor take it CR/NC. You have to do a bunch of papers that don't mean anything. Especially the perspectives paper. No one thinks in theories and what is learned in the class will NEVER used again.

Jason made my first year of college so exciting and fun. His teaching style is very effective and he is always there to answer any questions and it always available for appointments outside of class. He strives to personally know each student in and out of class and works his hardest to make sure everyone succeeds. GREAT PROFESSOR!

I definitely didn't like paying for a class I was not interested in but after having Jason for that class, I am glad I did. He likes to know his students personally. He will help with anything even after you are done with his class. Awesome guy!!

There is a writing assignment almost every week, but it was worth it. Jason made the class interesting and applicable to the first semester of college. I would recommend taking him to anyone and would take him again myself if I knew what else he was teaching.

Jason Bentley is a good man. He's clear and very easy to talk to. But if you want an FYE 101 section that you can blow off, don't take his. I wrote two papers a week in this class. But it was well worth it. It's good preparation for college.
