Comment:
A professor in the classic style, which means you might only like him if you are a student in the classic style (going to class, being passionate, doing your work). He marks too easily. I got 100 on a paper that I knew deserved a C at best. Besides that, he is encouraging and helpful if you visit him in office hours and an intellectual all around

Comment:
I have taken multiple classes with Dr. Neelis and loved every one. He knows the subject to an amazing degree. His assignments are easy as long as you put in the effort. He does not give a break for the students who are unwilling to try, which explains many of these comments.

He seems to be a very nice guy but has low self esteem. Once I questioned him in a different aspects in Indian religion, he was unable to give me satisfing answer and he brushed completely red in the class room.. Very boring class as well.

I took Neelis' class as a graduate student. The comments I have read about him are unfair and injudicious.Neelis is a fine teacher with a very professional style.I feel that you should not be in college if you can't appreciate an intellectual experience. But I guess they let anyone go to college these days.I highly recommend Jason Neelis' classes.

really boring class if you're not absolutely fascinated by the subject. is an awkward speaker and halts mid sentence. nice guy and really helpful out of class. is very knowledgeable on the subject...too much so and grades the essay exams ridiculously hard.

he really wants you to learn, but in the end he covers too much material in a day and it's not clear what was more important than the rest. the tests were very short with tons of information. interesting class, but difficult.

Comment:
He is a knowledgeable guy. He genuinely tries to cultivate the students' thoughts, yet often seems to end in utter frustration. He has an air of disease and the classroom environment is extremely stifled. He seems annoyed by and in denial of the fact that his students are only in their early twenty's. If feels like he's annoyed to be there.

He expects you to have done the readings thoroughly and carefully so to stimulate good class conversations. But he only uses the honor system to make sure you're keeping up. You can make his classes your most interesting or not.

He's a great guy, but has no business being in front of a class. Professors like this should be out in the field doing research (what he loves to do). His teaching style is mind-numbingly booring and he says, "um" every 3 or 4 words.

this guy is a complete tool! lectures are boring and yes, the stuttering is way too distracting to pay attention. i took this class expecting it to be interesting and enlightening, but i would rather gouge my eyes out with a butter knife than take this class again.

all you need is a little patience, because he does have a slight stutter. but, he is extrememly knowledgable, and extremely approachable. his attendance policy kinda sucks, but his tests are fairly easy. if it weren't for my absences i would have had an A, since he gives you review guides for tests.
