I didn't learn anything from her class, her prompt was very confusing. I went to the writing center for help and even the instructors told me they did not understand the purpose of her essays!! horrile teacher!! do not take her!

very soft spoken, monotone and unclear. doesnt know how to explain herself when asked questions. lots of confusion in essay topics and not much explanation given for them. dont take this class!

In high school i didnt do very well in english but in her class i did exceptionally well. she goes over 'theories' in the book that are the basics to know in english. she asks you if you have any questions on essays & you shouldnt be shy. 5 essays that were limited on research.. i recommend her all the way!

One of the best english teachers at CSM, hands down. You will learn alot that will help you in the long run, it sure did to me. Its not easy but its worth it. Take any of her classes. you wont regret it even if it gets hard.

she was one of the best engl teachers i've had here. pretty easy essay topics and she grades very fairly. if you go for help after class on your essays she will gladly help. compared to other engl 100 classes i've heard from her class is a breeze. not as much reading and the final was just an essay to turn in.

Professor Mach is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Her class is intriguing and requires a lot of deep thinking. As long as you do the required reading and show your interest in English (at least learning), you'll do well. The assignments are challenging - as all college assignments should be.

Professor Mach is deeply invested in education & the learning aspect. Her class will definitely challenge you to critically think as a writer & reader. There are 5 essays in which she'll give you about 2-3 weeks to prepare & write. You are required to use Turnitin & she likes multiple rough drafts. I learned so much from this class. Recommended.

You have to do the readings or you would not understand how to do the essays. She is a moderate grader not to easy not to hard. She believes in not dumbing down the class, so it makes her quite difficult than other teachers. Attendance is required or she will drop you after enough tardies.

If you do the readings and go see her in her office 1 time early in the course you should get an A. Class participation and visiting her during office hours seem to increase her leniency in grading. Great teacher and thought provoking reading. The more work you put into her class, the more you will get out of it-- big shock, right?

She's alright, not my favorite teacher. I wouldn't really take her again. She's really monotone and soft-spoken, so it's really hard to keep awake in the class especially in the afternoon. Mach is helpful and does try to help you understand the material if you ask for help at office hours.

It is important to read all the books required in this class. Essay prompts were confusing to me, and she couldn't really explain herself well during class. She gives plenty of class time for discussions and peer reviews, but I did not really benefit from them. Boring class.
