There is no questioning Dr. Knapp's knowledge of geology. However, his ability to teach the material in a comprehensive way is sub-par, and his exams hardly ever correlate with his lectures, aside from a few 'sample exam questions' he offers.

Comment:

Dr. Knapp is a great guy on a personal level. As professor of a lecture class, he can get pretty boring talking about geology. Just show up to class, copy down the iclicker questions and answers and do well in lab. More than half of the questions on the exams are the iclicker questions..same with the final. Honestly, you don't need the textbook..

Knapp is the man! Hello Gang Don't schist me! Funny guy, gives sample exam questions, and if you study and go to class, you will make an A or B+.For some reason a lot of people didn't go to class and would do really bad on the test. though if you take advantage of the questions he gives you its hard to know make at least a B. Lots of extra credit

Professor Knapp is really funny in a nerdy kind of way. He's always making geology related jokes and is very friendly. You get bonus points for iclicker questions, which is awesome because it raises your grade and if you miss a class you can make up for it by correctly answering questions. Tests use a lot of his sample questions. Take him!

Amazing professor!!!! Definitely take him, iclicker points raise your grade a ton and the exams are basically just the sample exam questions on his powerpoints. He's soooo nice and funny.

Knapppppsssthemaannnn. I did pretty terrible on my first exam but I was able to bring my final grade to an A because he drops the lowest test score if you attend the make up exam. Study online quizzes and questions from lectures and you'll do fine.

He is super corny and funny. He is willing to help and do well on the lab and it will help your grade alot. Make sure to read the chapters and do the online quizzes. Tests aren't too hard if you study the in class questions and if you go to class. Attendance is done through the iclicker so missing a few classes isnt the end of the world

Great guy! He really wants you to do well in his class. Lectures and notes are very clear/ helpful. He uses practice questions from the lecture on the test. Go to class and you will pass the course! Dr. Knapp is a great professor. He is really helpful and will go out of his way to help anyone who asks. The people who say his tests are hard obviously don't go to class. His lectures are interesting, and on top of that the sample exam questions are all on the tests. You know half of the questions and answers before each test. Just go to class

Prof. Knapp is a nice guy but the material covered in the class is hard simply b/c it's a lot of information to cover. The labs aren't too bad but the exams are HARD. He takes attendance with i>clickers and you get participation/extra credit pts. by answering the questions. Go to class and review the notes and you'll do ok

The lecture is EXTREMELY boring and very difficult to stay awake through the whole hour! The textbook is crazy expensive and you really do need it since you have to read tons of material to be fully prepared for a killer multiple choice exam!
