Comment:

One of the best English professors I've ever had. Dr. Garlen is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, cheerful, and interesting to listen to. Very fair grader. 10/10, A+, whatever grading system you use. She's fabulous. I had her for Early English Novel. It's a lot of work but you can do well. Definitely make sure you do the readings and you'll do well.

Mrs. Garlen is an awesome teacher her class is challenging but you would have to TRY to fail because you are bound to learn something. She truly cares about every student & it shows. She is extremely entertaining but don't get on her bad side! 4 papers, 1 Research paper & 1 revision, 2 quizzes and extra credit!

Dr. Garlen was a blast! Extremely helpful and a decent grader. She gives helpful comments on your papers and goes over the material until everyone understands it. She chose very interesting topics for the class. I loved attending her class. I want her for a professor for every class I take! *: )

I had her for EH 101 and 102. She is a great professor and she loves to help. She makes class extremely interesting. If you are looking for an easy A, dont take her. B's are easy to make but A's are really hard. I would strongly recommend her if you actually want to learn something.

I had her for EH 101 She doesn't hand out A's very easily, but if you work hard you can get one. Papers a fairly easy, and she's very willing to help. You can email papers to her at anytime and she has a facebook, so it is easy to stay in touch with her. Shes's very easy to talk to and a nice person! I would highly recomend her!

While there is much reading to do in this class, Dr. Garlen keeps it interesting. She works hard to make sure you understand the material. You can't do well in this class without studying, though a half-hearted effort will at least get you a decent grade.

Took for literature, she was very helpful and understanding with students. Probablly the best professor I have had in the English department. She does not expect the students to pick up on all the hidden meanings, but definetly helps to explain them and hope you can start catching on as the semester progresses. The tests were very fair.

Comment:

Ms. Garlen brings examples of the dress, people, and settings on an almost regular basis. She spends time answering e-mail and talking with students even out of office hours. If you need help she'll give it. She made me feel like she cares about teaching.
