I had him back in 2007 before he left WVU. I wanted to post this THANK YOU since some students seem to think you don't care. Last year I asked him to write me a recommendation letter, he did while at Alabama. It was great AND I got into graduate program I wanted! Thanks Dr.Z! You pushed me hard in math and I did it!

this guy is the biggest jerk that I know. very unorganized, thinks his so big and smart, but hell no. wouldn't round up your final grade even if you had X9.9 just trust me and DON'T take his class. you will FAIL and learn NOTHING from him. the only thing you'll learn from him is hatred.

Jeremy was great! He was always very helpful in office hours. Many of my friends did poorly this semester but they rarely did homework. Math 128 is easy if you do the homework and go ask for help. He sometimes seems like students need to do it on our own. He likes to push students beyond what they believe they can do. A sign of good teaching.

This is a class with difficult material, but Mr. Zelkowski really offered tools to make a student succeed in in this class. He was very helpful during his office hours and replied to e-mails promptly.

Comment:

Not an easy class at all. He's hard to understand, doesn't use examples that cover a broad enough range to make them useful for tests. Labs are easy, quizzes and tests are pretty hard, although fair for the material covered. I wouldn't take him again, that's for sure.

He knows what he is talking about but is not a great teacher. He makes the class very boring. I have not had one good day in that class. It is very important to go to class, if you dont, you may be done for. If you ask him for help after or befre class, he is helpful, but when you ask him a question in lab, he is almost no help at all.

Mr zelkowski can be great at times and not so great at times. My experiences were that if you attend class all the time and complete all assignments, he will go out of his way to get you through the class. However, I've heard him tell students forget about making up a quiz cause they missed class. He expects students to be accountable. Go to class!

Down to earth if you attend class regularly. If you miss class, he has no sympathy for you. Office hours were a savior. Ask questions before class. He does over stress student accountability, but hey, it is on us.

Take Math at another institution if possible because sadly, Jeremy is your best option if you are going to take 150. He explains material pretty well however he sometimes can make you feel like an idiot for asking a question. The class is hard and you will need to do your homework to achieve a decent grade unless derivatives come natural to you.

I think he's the best option for math 150, after talking to some of my friends that didn't have him. He always lets you know exactly what will be on the tests and gateways, and his in-class examples will really help you out on the quizzes. The final is incredibly difficult, with a lot of material that isn't found anywhere previously in the course

I had Jeremy for Math 124 and Math 150. He is a very good instructor who wants his students to excel. I thought both these classes were easy. As long as you do the work, you can't fail. I was worried this fall after reading ratings from his 124 students. I don't know why there are such low ratings. Probably my fav math teacher I've ever had!

Jeremy likes to push students to do better than they've done before in math classes. Sometimes it appears he is mean, but I'm very thankful he pushed me. I earned a A+ and one of the highest grades on the final exam. If your willing to do the work and want to learn, he's the best. If you're lazy, you will not like him. One of the best!!!

Very arrogant and rude. He often had the wrong answer displayed as correct on the PRS system and wasted at least 5 minutes of class time trying to explain why the answer was right before realizing it was not. He knows what he's doing but he shouldn't be teaching and he's getting his Ph. D. in Math Education.

Very good at teaching and is always available if you need help. However, be expected to pull your own weight. Labs can be difficult only if you don't put in the effort to really understand the lab previews given just before the labs. He is very easily understood and will even set up a review session before exams if the class needs extra help.

Horrible class. He is very concerned with developing critical thinking skills but neglects to teach the fundamentals so you have no framework to guide you. Be prepared to teach yourself and to be totally lost in labs. He refuses to take any responsibility for students' poor exam scores and gets angry if you ask him to slow down. Terrible teacher.
