Comment:
Overall the class is pretty interesting, but he lectures everyday and talks super fast. Also he doesn't care that much about the class and seems to change his mind a lot. For example I met with him about the final and then he went back on some of the advice he told me, so sort of unpredictable with grading. Not terrible but kind of frustrating.

Comment:
Professor Connor-Linton himself is a cool guy, but the course is extremely flawed. Half of the lectures were given by incompetent grad students. The final research paper was a group paper and presentation that was plainly uninteresting and too difficult. There was no incentive to pay attention after the second midterm since there is no final exam.

Prof. Connor-Linton is a great guy as well as a great teacher. The material (it's an intro class) isn't too challenging but he makes it interesting. Definitely take for LING-001.

Lectures were very straight-forward. Homework was quite reasonable. Midterm was somewhat challenging, but not too difficult. Final exam was a project that did not require too much work. Definitely would recommend to people looking for an easy A.

I would recommend him for anybody interested in taking Intro to Language. Weekly homeworks are pretty straightforward and the TA's were pretty lenient in grading them. Final project is indeed overwhelming but do-able, and he's very helpful and willing to talk about it. Lectures sometimes dry but reading is interesting if it's your thing.

he's great. his class is interesting, and he explains the things that are kinda vague in the books very clearly. homework (weekly) is easy, and the final project at the end is pretty open.

Jeff Connor-Linton is a pompous **** who has a much higher esteem for his Curriculum Vitae than his pupils. His boiling temper and self-righteousness often make class discussion and/or debate impossible. Don't take if you have any serious regard for linguistics, you'll be thoroughly disappointed.

Really energetic, engaging. Very willing to talk about the subject, your final project. Homeworks are a bit long, there was a midterm, and then an overwhelming, but ultimately helpful and interesting final project.

Great class and really energetic professor. Homeworks are quite long but not very difficult, and class is always interesting. There's a lot of freedom with the final project, which makes its length much more bearable. Definitely a recommendable course.

I had him for Intro to Linguistics. He's a pretty energetic and good guy. The homeworks and the midterm are really easy. The final paper is kinda a lot of work, but I would definitly recommend anyone taking Intro to Ling to take Connor-Linton
