I took his English 100 and 101 classes a few semesters back. Zitter is awesome! He genuinely cares about his students and is a really great teacher on top of being a busy new parent. I am a pretty good writer and his class challenged me in ways that I truly appreciated. Thanks for the awesome classes Prof!

Comment:

Although he is super passionate about English, he is a tough grader. During lectures he does give out good ideas that you wouldnt normally think about. There is about 5 or 6 in & outside class essays. I believe overall he is narcissistic and no matter how hard you try, it still isnt good enough for his standards. He is not on canvas all semester

Professor Zitter is easily the best English professor at OCC. His class is very clear, organized, and not very heavy on homework. Professor Zitter unlike other English teachers does not constrain his students with overly fastidious prompts, this allows his students more freedom when writing and I believe that sparks genuine interest and development

Chill teacher, hard grader, really need to put a lot of effort to maintain that B, dont be shy and ask for help after class or go to the student success center, gives lots of feedback so lots of room for improvements, class is a bit boring

took him for 100 and 101, Jeremy is most definitely one of the best profs on campus. as long as you strive to do your best in his class and have solid understanding of the English language, you will be fine. the books you read are exciting and keep you engaged. highly recommend him.

EXTREMELY clear grading criteria!! I had dropped two English classes before feeling like zitter made everything clear enough to help me improve my writing at the level I went in with. I was not confident about my writing skills before this class, but now I feel like ive learned a lot from his feedback. highly recommend

take his class if you actually wanna learn and improve your writing because he does a great job at telling you what makes a paper good. no hes not an easy grader but he lets you revise papers and gives extra credit. overall, a cool guy and an efficient instructor.

Overall, I definitively enjoyed this class, learned to appreciate topics that I normally would pass on, improved my critical thinking skills when reading, don't get too discourage if you get a low grade, bc he does let you revise papers & for tips: prep a day before for the in class essays & makes sure to study his handouts! It definitely helped me

Zitter is a nice guy who is always willing to help those who ask for it. He is a tough grader with the essays, but if you try hard and follow his prompts, then you will do good in his class. I honestly think he is an amazing professor, and he wants you to be a better writer. Take him if you can! :)

Overall a good Prof. But... He's not on Canvas (which is super annoying) so you'll get loads of emails from him. Office hours are hit or miss. Also he gives tons of unnecessary handouts in class... doesn't he care about saving trees??!

I took him for English 100 & 101 and I'll say 101 was much harder. A lot of reading and challenging essays. Over all he is a great teacher and if you show that you care about writing and his class then you will learn a lot and improve. He gives interesting stories tor read and gives good feedback to help you improve. I really enjoyed his class.

Zitter is the best! I never liked writing papers in high school but his prompts were much more interesting which made writing come simply! Hes very specific with what he wants incorporated in your paper and if you do so you will be graded fine. You can also revise essays! Class ended a little early usually which was great!! Cool prof for sure

Zitter is a great professor. I've never been great with English Lit, but I literally became a better writer and critical thinker because of Zitter. Know what a 10-on-1 is like the back of your hand. Don't analyze a quote only one specific way, write about multiple meanings effectively and explain them. All of the stories we read were pretty crazy.

Zitter is an awesome guy! Loved his prompts & never enjoyed writing but found his class very enjoyable. He lets you two of your essays for better grades. I'd like to think of myself as a decent writer however I felt as though he graded very hard because out of all essays except one, I had received C's.. or maybe I am just a bad writer tbh xD

Hes a tough grader but if you do the work you'll get through it. He is great at listening, advising and being there if you need the help and overall, Zitter is a fantastic teacher and I would take him again. He's also pretty funny!

Excellent Professor. Great discussions. Willing to help before essays are due. Lets you revise essays. Very insightful and interesting stories and analysis. Peer response of rough drafts is very helpful. He gives you confidence in your responses to the particular works of literature. Funny and relative. I would take any of his classes.
