One of the better if not best teachers at USF. Very good at interpreting the text for lectures and making them understandable. Genuinely felt like I learned during this course. Difficult tests, but a passing grade is typically a 50% (believe it.) Would absolutely take a course with him again.

I negotiated from an A- to an A afterwards...the class is interesting if you want it to be. I never read the requried reading :-/ but I still followed along pretty well. I had no idea what he was talking about the first couple of weeks though but I didnt know what the class was either. He has a nice attendance policy and we watched movies :)

Easy and interesting Humanities class. One of the few that I actually like to go to. Three books for the class but not big. 4 Exams which are all multiple choice. 30 ques. but you need to get 25 for a 100%. Which statement is false kind of ques. but easy if you study and listen. Nice guy and a good sense of humor. BEST HUMANITIES WITH NO WRITING!!

I took this class during Summer B so it was pretty fast paced and rigorous. Dr. Campbell was an amazing professor, and he would explain everything he knew about one Latin word. Sometimes he would talk for 1/2 hr on one word! For those who really want to learn and understand the Latin language, definitely choose Dr. Campbell.

I took this class over the summer and I learned alot in 6 weeks. He makes it difficult to fail. He posts not only the powerpoints he lectures from but also an outline of what will be on the test. If you read what is assigned, pay attention in class and study before the exams, you should pass with flying colors. He curves each test and final grade.

He's a great professor! He's incredibly knowledgable on his subjects and has a great sense of humor. I enojoyed all my classes with him. He's very helpful when you're struggling. The only students who did really badly were the ones who skipped classes and were lazy about doing the homework. I would definielty recommend Dr.Campbell to other students

He thinks on a very deep level. It is important to pay attention. He is a fair grader. He also allows a certain amount of absences and cancelled class a few times which was a nice surprise.

Prof. Campbell is a wonderful teacher. As long as you remain up to date on the readings for class, you'll do fine. He likes to keep everyone involved in class, so you have to know what's going on. I had him for Latin II & I did just fine with very little work.

Sweet teacher. Funny. Pretty helpful. Really great on helping translation. Doesn't focus on minor errors. Wants to know that you know what you're speaking. Tests are good. You'll do better/get better grades/know what you're reading/writing on tests, if you go to class and go through/learn the translations as he goes over them.

First class I have ever dropped! Nice guy, but lacking in lecture skills. Did not communicate material well - very confusing. Did offer a generous double curve (per exam and final grade), and will not assign a grade lower than a 50. But he needs to do this to make sure that a majority of the students pass. Would not recommend this class.

Doctor Campbell is my all-time favorite professor. He is hilarious and has an encyclopedic knowledge of his subject. Any slipshod, cut-corner students that expect to breeze by without doing any actual work are in for a rude awakening. His focus: Translation, as opposed to parsing.

Ok, so this guy is the worst professor i have ever had, "does that make any sense". He just rambles on and on and asks if anybody has any questions about the material for the exams. If not, it is english dubbed greek movies - "from his personal collection". For being an A & B student, his D he gave me will scar my transcript!

This is definitely not a class you should take during the summer. He speaks way too fast, and the questions on his tests are very tricky. I would not recommend this class unless you already know quite a bit about classic (Greek) mythology.

I was excited to take this...but now I can tell you - DO NOT TAKE IT! He lectures in a monotone from PowerPoint. His exams are extremely confusing - see rating above. and, for his review for the final, he asked "What don't you know," and then put on a movie! Exams written to flunk students...basically, just STAY AWAY. Nice old guy, HORRID class!!!

He is an old guy who is most likely tenured, he just doesn’t care. He comes to class late and leaves early. The tests are random facts that he picks from the lecture and power points. One also develops a tendency to start saying “hot stuff!” It’s an easy A if you study… and make sacrifices to the Gods.

He is a GREAT teacher but tests are wicked. 30 questions - best 25 counted. Sounds good so far, right? Here's the rub - all are "Which statement is false." Oh yeah, it is multiple choice w/ E being "None of the above." This means you need to know EVERYTHING. If you don't know all the details you are done for. Gives almost full letter grade curves!

Dr. Campbell is funny, and quite knowledgeable. That being said, his exams are HARD. I am a straight *A* student, and got Cs on two of his exams. He seems to know his style is not very fair, as he curves each exam (and the final grade) quite a bit. I ended up with an A, but it was like a guessing game to take his tests. Take him *if* you must.

The guy is nice and his lectures are interesting, but his test are HARD! I went to class everyday took notes and could barely pass an exam. The exams are like gambles I did horrible on one and got a B I did better on the following one and got a D. The test are not based on general comcepts but on random details that he may or may not have gone over
