This is one of the only teachers who has challenged me in my educational career. Finally someone who sets standards, and exposes the true difficulties of being a teacher today! She is tough. She sets high standards. She assigns a lot of work. You only get out what you put in!! Judy is an amazing teacher and resource!!

I cannot believe what you wrote about the most influential teacher in the field of TESOL. Firstly she teaches a lot, also she wants a lot. learners from this professor most probably do not like to study or search or learn. I learned from her a lot, so that it helps me in other courses. she is just wonderful, because she knows this field very well.

What a miserable teacher. She is the only one that has ever made me want to crawl into a hole and die. Avoid her at all costs.

in the TESOL methods classes she is supposed to teach TESOL methods. The only thing I have learned in her class is what NOT to do. Do not waste your time having her as a professor. After 2 semesters I have a very sour taste in my mouth about an area that I was once enamored with. Thanks Judy.

She assigns way more than she should or is able to get back to you with. She makes all assignments more complex than she should and seems to delight when she watches us suffer.

gives way more work than SHE can even keep up with. always do your reading. projects are worthless. she will try to talk you out of becoming an educator--don't let her!

This class is very interesting and informative. It can be alot fo work sometimes, because she assigns alot of readings... and also has us working on 2 different projects with 2 different groups at the same time. HOWEVER: She is very nice. She has alot of experience to share with us and that helps. Also very compassionate.

Judy is perhaps one of the best instructors in this education program. Many students at SUNY New Paltz may not be accustomed to the work load that Judy assigns, but they must realize that it is all given for the benefit of the student. Her assignments are relevant and helpful. Are you,the student, in school to learn or to attain a piece of paper

She is possibly the most difficult professor you will have in your life. She assigns a crazy amount of tedious work. Some people hate her and I've heard bad stories about her. As far as my experience though, she's definitely a nice person who really cares about her students, as well as their future ESL students. She has great knowledge of the field

If there had been any teacher to make me want to drop out of the education program, it is indeed her. Talks to students as though they are children. I don't usually care about workload, but she seriously thinks hers is the only class in the universe and assigns so many stupid assignments.

A ton of work, expects a lot, and is a hard grader... I heard all this going in and it was all true, BUT, she is nice, she does let you redo stuff and does want you to succeed. She's really a sweet lady who has good intentions but the workload really put a lot of pressure on me that semester!

Classes are hard, demanding, and chock full of information. If you want to learn, it is a great class to be challenged in. Teacher is caring, and understanding but wants holds you to high expectations...however no higher than she puts on herself. Knowledgeable teacher, good addition to the TESOL program.

Tough class. Takes an A student and beats him or her down to a bloody pulp. The work is insane, and she constantly makes students re-write work that other teachers would have considered exemplary. Definitely has favorites, and they are not usually English concentration students. Take any other option for Intro to Curriculum and Assessment.

She's very nice, no two ways about that. Gives extensions, willing to help, does want you to succeed BUT, there is a ton of work and a ton of readings... you will learn a lot and the 3 hour classes go by fairly quick, but like i said, expect to do a lot of work, ALOT of work!!!

Even though some kids didn't like her class, I loved it. If you put the time into it, you'll do absolutely fine. I suggest you take her for literacy, she is knowledgable and dedicated to the cause. Might want to steer clear from CUrriculum and Assessment though.

Too theoretical for a practical course. Spent 50% of each class discussing our assignments, and we were still confused. Assigns 20pg papers like candy. Good at research, but can't teach.
