Amazing. Amazing. She has to be one of the most intelligent and kind people I've had the honor of being acquainted with. Each voice lesson with her is an incredible opportunity to learn and grow as both a musician and a person. She expects you to work hard, as any good teacher would. She's a brilliant musician, and a wonderful teacher and friend.

Dr. Stieler is a national treasure. One of the best pedagogues I've ever met, kind, understanding, and a great communicator. Her knowledge of vocal technique and repertoire is endless, and she's willing to put it a lot of work to help her students. More written work than other vocal professors, but nothing is assigned without a purpose.

Kathryn is a great teacher! She cares a lot about her students and wants them to do well. There is a lot of written work, but it's because she wants you to be prepared. She will push you to be your best, and expects nothing less. She is young, funny, smart, loving, and knowledgeable!

Honestly the best thing to happen to the music department, specifically regarding the vocal side. She's amazing, miraculous...a true teacher and advocate of exemplarly music education. You have to work but you should know that it's worth it all!

Thank GOD she came to Grand Valley. She is absolutely wonderful. Willing to give you extra lessons that you don't have to pay for, and really goes the extra mile. She is smart, kind, passionate, and demanding when she needs to be.
