Comment:

Sumner is a cool guy and has some funny jokes but a bit rude. Calls people out in class so take it with stride if he does it to you. He knows the materials well but sometimes acts annoyed when you ask to review something and then does not review. Class is TEST HEAVY but he grades erratically and frequently marks stuff wrong that was right.

Comment:

Professor Sumner is a good guy. Likes to pick on students. He will grade other people's exams and he will be making loud comments while doing so which i found funny but distracting. The material isn't tough. Get an A on the final then you get an A in the course, doesnt matter if you failed all the previous exams. So make sure you study like crazy.

I took Estimating in the fall with Sumner. I would highly not advise this if you can get a different professor I would take that opportunity. Sumner also very loud when your taking a quiztest. In the fall he said the following during the middle of our test "WOW! You guys really didn't study for this test (While grading other peoples test.)"

Overall a good guy. I've had him for Heavy Construction and Estimating. Not always easy to follow but is knowledgeable and fairly helpful. He gives a lot of opportunities for grades. Don't blow off the labs.

This guy is a boss, he knows his stuff and knows how to teach it. his tests can be hard by the way he words the questions but he is fair when grading them. The best part is if you get a 90 on the final he gives you an A for the class regardless of how you did on any other test, quiz or project

Sumner is by far the best teacher @ WIT. He is a CCM, so anyone who says he doesn't know what he is talking about knows nothing about the construction industry. If u listen to him u will learn a ton of relevant and practical information that will help u in the real world. Funny stories about his "vacation" in south east asia.

The man, the myth, the legend of Construction Management at Wentworth. I don't care what anyone else says he's the man. If you need help he's there. Even though his tests are tricky and theres no partcial credit, its understandable because estimating is a large part of our career path. His mood swings are funny and king stories are a good laugh too

Professor Sumner is one of the best, most helpful professors I've ever had. He is always willing to help you with anything you need and has a lot of great real life stories and tons of experience in the industry, which is invaluable. AWESOME!
