The topic wasn't to difficult. He worked over all the necessary information to be successful on the midterm and final. We don't really do much with matlab, but I learned a lot about SimuLink.

Dr. Levien is extremely knowledgeable but he is not the best at teaching complex material. Bombards you with information and doesn't explain it well. I passed all his classes and do not know a thing about MatLab.

Lecture couldn't be more dull and is usually just him rambling through derivations covered in the text. TA does a poor job grading HW

Keeps his exams fair and they are VERY doable. The final looked liked both midterms. Homework can be confusing, but if you work on it early you shouldn't have a problem. All tests are open note, book, and HW. Shouldn't worry about a not passing this class.

This professor is really interesting person. I love this class and if you ask, he help you really well though talking slowly... Well, MATLAB is depends on how you work on it, but LOBOLAB is depends on who you work with...

Dr. Levin is awesome! Yes he may be boring at times, but other times he absolutely hilarious. He is really dedicated to what he teaches and is never wrong. Keith Levien is the Chuck Norris of Matlab for sure!

Dr. Levien is very nice, knows his stuff ridiculously well, but he is incredibly boring. You could count people by the dozen sleeping through lecture. using the textbook for MATLAB is essential. Hope that you get a good group for ROBOLAB and be prepared to work really hard. It's a lot of work but otherwise a good class.

Dr. Levien is a nice guy, but really hard to listen to for two hours. He also teaches 3 classes at a time, making office hours with him almost impossible to schedule. His HW and tests are really straight forward, so as long as you can do the HW you can do the tests.

Matlab: Lecture completely unnecessary, homework mostly done for you, tests simple since they're open-book. Robolab: Time-consuming, but competence related little to your actual grade. In general: easy class, unrelated to CHE/BIOE, your hand is held like you're in middle school. Robolab can be fun, but its over-dramatized.

The class isn't too hard. Kind of fun if you're interested in programming. The class doesn't have any relation to CHE/BIOE/ENVE, but you need to learn matlab. It will come in handy later.

Comment:
Class is focused on Matlab and Robolab. The workload for Matlab isn't too high, but Robolab owns your life and it's not worth enough of your grade. Levien is a nice person but doesn't speak loudly enough, and has a tendency to put you to sleep while lecturing. Maybe it was just me, but he seemed condescending when students asked him questions.

This class is really boring. Hope you get a good group for project. Most of homework is done in class. Tests are not to bad if you read the book and know where the info is becasue they are open book. Final is super easy b/c it is made of questions from the miderms which you are allowed to use on the test.

Nice guy but talk about a sleeper! Skips too many steps, needs to lecture on his own examples not out of the books. Gives handouts on what is going to be covered, then goes over them. Puts everything on PP then on blackboard for you to print out. Don't really need to show up for class or take turns with a friend.

A fundamental problem is that he teaches MATLAB for this class, which is completely useless. His lectures are very boring and very long. Homework is basically done for you, though.

Good person, incredibly dry lectures. Tries to be helpful, but you're better off talking to other students, mentors, TA's or...just about anyone for help.

Talk about bushy eyebrows...My advice, find someone with last years midterms...then try not to get in his way...he's not very helpful if you catch him at the wrong time...
