I love Dr CB. She really cares about her students and doing well. She accepts feedback on how she is doing gracefully which I feel most professors don't. Her exams are easy if you know the Biblical stories even a little. Reading is required though, every night. But the material is interesting.

As long as you read, you'll be fine. Offers extra credit opportunities. I would suggest choosing the essay form for exams because you get the questions beforehand and can bring your notes and bible. Lectures are funny! If you bomb one exam though, it is hard to come back. There are 3 exams and several quizzes plus one group project.

I wasn't sure I would like this class at first because of the topic but she actually makes the material interesting. She has several quizzes and a couple of exams but if you study and read, they aren't hard. She's funny and easy going. She gives easy extra credit as well.

Comment:

Dr. Coblentz-Bautch is a very kind and knowledgable professor, she is always willing to work with any of her students, but you have to ask for it. Her tests can be tough but they shouldn't be that hard if you study, read the textbook and you should be fine. While the lectures are long and tedious they are exactly what is on the test so take notes!

This professor likes interacting with students. If there are lots of digressions or if a student tries to monopolize discussion, the professor will redirect the conversation. She is a tough grader and has a difficult grading scale.

She treats the class like we're in high school. Course could have been exciting, but she actually stopped discussions that got too "complex". When questions are asked, she gives the student a distant stare and often invades personal space. She doesn't like when students' disagree with her opinion, which I found weird for a religion professor.

I took her for a class called Book of Revelation, which I don't think appears each semester, unfortunately. It was absolutely fantastic, my favorite class I've taken thus far. She was an absolutely WONDERFUL professor who challenged my religious views and made me actually interested in Biblical history. I would take her in a heartbeat again.
