What he is teaching us is pointless because when you transfer your going to be behind anyway. nothing is useful and ken teach methods are terrible. does give example that are resent just gives examples from 2009. Hey doesn't care.

The classes are super boring and their is nothing entertaining about them, doesn't truly try to engage with the class. I would rather watch paint dry or grass grow, His class is 2 hours long... some days we would come in for 15 minutes to go over a project that could be explained in an email. He did that almost twice a week, he has no care.

Comment:

Ken gets mad over the smallest thing, He yelled at someone for being late. Even though they left an hour early and still got stuck in traffic. If he gets mad enough he walks out of class early. You can never tell if he is serious or not.

He never puts in your grades, you want to know what you in the class well to bad, I didn't know what I got in the class until the semester was over. If you go to the cafe he expects you to buy him drinks/food but he doesn't give the money for it. Shows ancient power points.

Ken treats people like trash, implies that your not cut out for architecture then goes off to say don't let anyone stand in your way of reaching your goals. Gives criticism on how to improve your project, and when you change it to what he said, he gets upset that you changed your project and should have keep the same as your first one.

At the beginning of the semester he gives you a list of materials that required for the classes but you only use some of the stuff once which is a complete was of time, oh ken also expects you to spend a minimum 300 on model materials one every single project which is an addition to the materials list which is another 300 dollars.

Ken Says "autocad is not being used in architecture" which is false, many companies/firms that use CAD. Not will to change, when some challenges his "Authority" he freaks out, and leaves class early. He says "He will help you after class" but then he leaves, never to return. I you can't find him he is hiding in his office.

Ken is not good at teaching, he gives examples from 20 years ago. Every handout ken give has something wrong with it, All I learned from ken was how to trace handouts and spend 300 hundred dollars on study models. KEN DOES NOT GRADE FAIRLY. PLEASE DON'T TAKE ANY CLASSES WITH KEN, HE IS NOT WORTH THE ADDED STRESS.

Comment:

Ken Trionfo is a terrible teacher there are no guidelines, to his class. He never emails the class, he "has the right to destroy your project." Ken is very unprofessional, he gives you a long list of materials you "need" for the class but you only use them once or twice. I changed majors and on the last day of class he said I'm happy to see you go.

Ken has improved since last year. Last year was an off year for him. He has showed up to every class on time or even early. We sadly will not have many projects again to put in our portfolio's though.

He threw out all of my projects because he wanted to make the studio look nice for the dean. They weren't even graded yet, and he never gave back the flash drive with the pictures on it. I guess my portfolio is going to be pretty empty. I worked weeks on those, and he has the nerve to tell me "it doesn't matter". Maybe not to him, but to me.

I feel so sorry for anyone going into the program here, it is a waste of time and money. He refuses to learn and change to the point he refuses to use CAD. We are behind in comparison others, and he doesn't even seem to care. No effort is made, and he MUST be right, even when proven wrong. Sadly, he has no problem belittling students or projects.

I am glad I am leaving soon, we learn nothing from him, we only learned from doing the few scraps of projects he gave us. He belittles designs to fit his agenda, and doesn't allow you to practice any real architecture. Compared to other schools, it is a joke. The only positive note of his class: my lego building skills have definitely improved.

We've had ONLY 3 projects this semester and he barely shows up for class. The other day he had a childlike tantrum and stormed out of the class after calling us all pathetic for being ill-prepared. He refuses to teach and expects way too much. As an interior design student, you'll be lucky if he spends 5 minutes with you at all. Never again.

I like Ken but, he doesn't always show up for class. He doesn't email people if there is no class. People drive 10-60 minutes to get to NCC. People use lots of gas to get here for a class they may not have. Ken also doesn't assign many projects. This is bad for when students make a portfolio of their work. I am very dissatisfied with this class.

No idea what he's doing, he gave us and entire semester's worth of work in two weeks, during finals. He needs to retire.
