Dr. Nye believed in my ability, was encouraging when I needed it, and pushed me to achieve something much greater than I thought that I was capable of. Her confidence in me was not something I had ever experienced from friends, or even family. She will bring the best out of you if you if you are open to it and ready for the challenge.

Comment:

Professor Nye is really smart and kind. She tries to make class fun by doing different activities. There are a couple papers which makes it seem a little heavy for a first year seminar class, and she is a rather tough grader.

Comment:

Professor Nye provided us with way too much homework, papers, discussion posts, and presentations. It was simply a first year seminar yet I had more homework and stress because of this class than any other. She never answers questions, tells you to talk to her after class, and just asks you questions back when you are confused. Overall it is awful.

Comment:

Unclear about assignments and her tests are terribly hard, because she grades so strictly. She makes you paraphrase all of your sources and then marks it as plagiarism. Also, you won't ever need to buy the book because she posts all the pages on e-campus if it's that important. If u go to the BR or slightly late, she takes points off your grade.

Dr. Nye's class is not as difficult as every body says it is. She is very kind, and helpful. You must READ to pass her quizzes. She takes questions straight from the book. As long as you do exactly what she asks for on her rubrics, you will be fine. The homework is annoying but very easy! The group work is tense but there are no lectures.

This professor was literally impossible. Her tests were extremely difficult because what she taught in class was not on the test. I really did not like her. She was not very helpful at all. There is a lot of group work which gets annoying. Dont buy the book because you wont use it EVER

Dr. Nye is awesome. She loves what she teaches and she makes class fun. To get an A you need to do a little more than just go to class. She gives many resources to study and offers extra credit. She is very clear in what she wants and if you want an A in this class, it is very do-able. I recommend taking her

This class will challenge you at times but just stick with it. Don't get discouraged about the quiz grades if you don't do so well. They really won't effect your grade that much. The 2 big projects, attendance and IA's will help your grade. She's a very sweet woman and really knows what she is talking about. She tries to help you as much as she can

DO NOT TAKE HER FYS CLASS!!!! I was forced to take it when my original fys was canceled. The class is nothing like the description. The textbook is horrendous, especially the quizzes! You can study for 6 hours for the quiz & still end up with an F. Almost everyone is on MEWS report. Very difficult grader. Nice, genuine woman, but TERRIBLE class.

Very clear and understanding professor. She was incredibly sweet and helpful to her first year seminar class. Gave a research paper only at the end and held your hand throughout the entire thing considering we were new. Im taking her next semester again for psych!

She is probably one of my favorite proffs this semester. She is very understanding and as long as you study for the tests you should be fine. I took into to psych in high school and the material is pretty much the same. test questions are always multiple choice and lots of easy group work.

For all of those complaining about Dr. Nye, you're obviously not ready to be in college and experience a real workload. She is the best prof I've had by far - read your book, study, take notes, and the extra credit opportunities she gives you. Stay after class if you have a question and she'll listen. My favorite class/prof I had all freshman year.

must put effort in the class to do well. if you do not get less than a c on all the tests and do all assignments you should be able to get an a! but you must work for it and tests are medium but manageable. i would maybe take her again.

Dr Nye is a great teacher! Very helpful and wants everybody to succeed. her classes are so fun and interesting but her tests are extremely hard. you def will have to make a effort in this class I would maybe consider taking her again if i had to. do the work and do okay on the tests and youl be fine.

Dr. Nye is a great teacher. The best part with her is that she only teaches one class because she is a AVP. You feel so important in her class because she is only worrying about your class. Her tests are hard. But she gives so many extra credit opportunities and easy projects that bring up your grade. Her goal is to grasp the knowledge TAKE DR. NYE

She is an excellent professor. She is very knowledgeable of the subject and makes it interesting with videos and other lesson supplements. The tests can be difficult, but if you study you should do fine.

She is hard but worth it. She tries to mix things up by one time bringing her dog in or giving lemonade powder as an experiment. If you need help (which u probaly will) she is always there. I hope I can take her again
