Great instructor, I went in knowing absolutely no German and now I can read and understand basic German. He is very helpful and makes class fun to be there. You will get out if his class as much as you put in. He makes it easy to understand and you will get a decent grade if you do the work (which is not overwhelming at all).

Take this class if you want an easy A, not if you actually want to learn german. You pretty much only learn random vocab. You don't learn any grammar. Although you'll understand some written german, you really feel like you can't speak anything because he doesn't really teach you how to form a sentence. He's really nice and easy, but ineffective.

This instructor is very thorough and concerned for all students. He is personable, makes class enjoyable and has an excellent memory. He knows every student by name and will do whatever it takes to help you succeed. I took both of his German classes in one year and highly recommend doing that. I also earned A's both semesters.

Mr. Browne is one of the most awesome teachers ever! He's funny/cool, knows what he's teaching, and actually cares about what students learn. He focuses less on little details and grammar rules and more on speaking the language, which is both good and bad. Because I really want to learn German, but I also want to know the grammar/rules.

He teaches by example, often immersing students in the German language throughout class periods. (You should probably brush up on your language skills prior to classes or at least learn to say "Ich verstehe nicht, Herr Browne" if you need him to speak more English during class. Do your lab time or else...that is, if you want an A. Fun class !!

A very good teacher with a very good personality. His approach to teaching is very practical; majoring more on reading, writing, and speaking German than on grammar. Beware though, he may not use the assigned class textbook. You may want to go to the first class and see if he's going to use it before you spend your money.

Great teacher. lots of fun and a really nice guy. plus he's an awesome guitar player and occasionally will play in class. I definitely recommend him.

Great techer, I only wish we could meet more than once a week. Goes at a fast pace for beginners, but if you study hard then the tests aren't so bad.
