Dr. Grabau is awesome, anyone saying he is a tough grader or a bad professor is either incompetent in school or lazy. There is really not that much work in this class, should be an easy A.

His hatred for Forestry was unfaltering and unfathomable, refusing me the time of day to talk about any issue that dealt with (dare I say) DEFORESTATION. He pretends like he lets you choose your topics for papers and projects but they're all carefully assigned to you to ensure you fail. This is a 100 level course and I was afraid of failing ...

Very confused as to why this man is in a leadership position within the university. The class started fine but went downhill fast. He tried hiding his inadequacy by rambling, but offered no specific help. Graded based on information he explicit stated would not matter. I got an A by working extensively out of class and keeping my mouth shut

Comment:

Dr. Grabau was one of the reasons I had such an excellent first semester. He was extremely helpful and kind and introduced me to many opportunities that will benefit me for my later years. Highly reccommend and I plan on returning as a peer mentor, only if I can work with him again.

This guy is weird. Definitely nice and made the class seem so easy then assigns us this paper, gives everyone a terrible grade and pretty much dictates your grade on whether he likes you or not. Would not take him again, not worth being in the LLP.

Dude was pretty cool to start off the year, kinda like a grand parent who rambles but you learn at the same time. The moment the projects started everything went down hill. Grades stupidly hard and isn't helpful at all. Don't take him if you have the option.

I did not like him at all! I heard from several people that this class was their favorite class within the ag college. I was pumped about taking it and now I don't even want to go. I hate the class! He is very rude, unfair, and is an awful person to try and deal with. If you are very passionate about the ag do not have him as a professor.

I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I got a 98, but this man is awful unapproachable rude & unhelpful. NEVER ask questions. I am afraid to go to office hours because of him. The man described in these reviews is not the man I had in class. He is an insanely ineffective teacher. I hated every second of this course. Worst professor I have had.

Dr. Grabau really loves teaching. The class is a lot of projects (speeches and presentations), but they are easy. He grades reasonably and is always willing to help. He's a character for sure, I really enjoyed having him even though the class itself was a drag.

Dr. Grabau is the best honors professor I have ever had. Very helpful and honest. Class is an easy A. Great, funny guy and a great professor. I wish every professor was as caring and practical as Dr. Grabau.

Larry is so funny and so helpful. He is so enthusiastic about teaching. He has standards though. You have to work hard to get a good grade. He tries really hard to get the class to be close, so in the end you come out with a great experience.

Dr. Grabau is not a pushover of a teacher. You will have to do work in his class to get an A. That being said, he's really helpful if you ask him, and none of the work is unreasonable. Just don't expect to jack around the whole time and be handed an A for no work. Great teacher.

One of my favorite professors ever. Grabau truly loves to teach and to see students wanting to learn. There is a research paper in the second half of the semester which is a lot of work, but Grabau is reasonable and very helpful. Get to know him as much as you can if you have him, he's an awesome guy.

I love Dr. Grabau!! Take his class!! You will love it, I promise!! The SSRP at the end of the semester kind of sucks, but that is pretty much all you have to do all semester so it's really not bad. He is a really cool guy and is really passionate about teaching.

Super easy class, super nice guy who really cares about his students. However, lectures were random, hard to follow....like being taught by someone with ADD. The course material you probably learned in 5th grade science class. Didn't learn much in this one.

Larry was an alright teacher to have. In the syllabus he states a writing assignment needs to be 250 words, but in reality you have to write around 600 to get full credit. His class discussion were always interesting, but appears a tad bit biased on issues. Overall though I felt I learned a lot and challenged me to excel in my work.

Overall a pretty enthusiastic teacher. Most all work done outside of class, about 2 2-4 page writing assignments per week. Pretty easy topics. He grades pretty hard on SRP paper rough draft, but fairly easy on the final draft. At the end of the year, if you don't have an A, you can talk to him about it and get one. I learned a lot and loved it
