Hard class, much harder than Writing for the Media (which I also had Linder for). Basically a difficult history course- midterm and final are fairly challenging. Watch a lot of videos (most of which are interesting) but expected to complete large amounts of HW. Didn't even try to read the textbook, just skimmed and used the information I could find

Husband teaches class when she's not in and doesn't even tell you. Her grading is like Alice in Wonderland A--, B--. Huge textbook use. Allows no corrections. Messed up every test we took. Paper is HARD. Lives in Academia not real world. Gives plenty of office hours though. Talks love affair of film lots!

Ended up being a good class. Laura gave a lot of assignments and her grading was kinda strange sometimes (gave A--'s?) but overall I definitely enjoyed working with her. Assignments were not too lengthy, and she would work with us to make our stuff better when she had the chance. Friendly and gave some opportunities to make corrections. Nice lady!

Taught writing for media brilliantly. Always available and willing to help students, and gives many chances for makeups. No tests. There were alot of assignments but very easy. She really strives for all of her students to get A's. Really sweet lady. Definitely recommend.

This class literally gave me a headache. This was one of the most stressful classes I ever had to take in college. This class did not need to be as difficult as it was. I was also not happy with the professor and if any other professor taught this class instead, it would have been a lot different.

I would not recommend this class to anyone who does not have to take it. One of the most stressful classes I ever had to take and most stressful class I took that semester. Too much HW and the HW is time consuming and tedious. The review "packet" for both the midterm and final were ridiculous. The midterm and final were also extremely exhaustive.

I was SO EXCiTED about this course, PRiOR TO to taking it! This is one of the CORE classes for my major (R/TV/F). I was NOT iMPRESSED with how the information was presented, nor was I thrilled with Dr. Linder! >=\

I had more work in this class than all of the work in my other 4 classes combined. There was long and tedious homework due every class, the study guides for the final and midterm are several pages of random names to memorize. The lectures are not helpful at all

Digital Toolbox, knew nothing about the class topic, should not be teaching this class. Very nice woman, you think she would grade easier. Must meet expectations or receive a low grade.

Very nice lady. A little nuts in the head. Shares a lot of personal life. Make sure you complete all the worksheets and papers on time and dress nicely for speeches (no jeans). Tests are easy and final is a life saver.

LOTS of textbook readings, there are 2 and you have to write summaries. Drops the two lowest. Grades hard on summaries but if you go talk to her you'll end up doing a lot better. A really sweet lady and if you go through the study guide you'll do just fine on the midterm/final. And what could be so bad about watching TV shows in class?!

Terrible... This woman cannot stay on task. You will be expected to read two text books which will not only be boring but repetitive. Then you are expected to summarize them which makes them even more monotonous. Class time is a complete waste and often hardly relates to the readings.

The class, which contains a lab session, is a waste of time, listening to entire radio broadcasts and watching old TV shows. Reading responses are due every week and must be 3 pages single spaced, if you want at most a B. Overall the subject is very boring, the readings are long and the responses are tedious. She's a nice lady, but don't take her.

She is a little nuts with the work. There is a 3 page single spaced response due every week. It's not hard, but its long and annoying. I don't suggest taking the class, but if you have to be ready for the work.

Dr. Linder's a great person overall but she favors her media students. The capping class is divided up btwn media & PR and although she doesn't outright state her favorability, she's sooo much more enthusiastic about her media students. The course is relatively easy but her grading doesn't make much sense. Marks you down for the stupidest things.

Dr. Linder is by far my favorite professor at Marist. For Broadcasting, she changed the format of class- no quizzes! Just 1 journal entry due every week and participation. This makes you actually read the book. I've learned more history in this class than in any other actual history class i've taken. TAKE DR. LINDER!! :)

Granted it was probably the easiest capping class in history, Linder wasn't a great teacher. We only met once a week for literally 15 minutes, cancelled class many times, including the last 2 weeks...of capping! Unorganized, strange grader, always seemed like she had other things to do instead of teach us, came to our event and was a dancing fool.

Don't get me wrong, I love Dr. Linder. She's amazing and she's been my advisor for all four years, but this class is a different story. A quiz (TEST) every week with so much information to learn and then a final based on all the quizzes. We had 27 short essay questions on the final. The class is ridiculous.

Worst teacher I've ever had. Can't teach, and doesn't even try. Tests & powerpoints are from the textbook company and class discussions are irrelevant to tests. Knows nothing about communications. Going to class is pointless/borring but attendance is strict. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER.

What all other Marist professors should be like. Dr. Linder is the most approachable, understanding, and enjoyable professor I've had in my 4 years at Marist. She truly loves what she does and it shows. Don't graduate without taking one of her classes, or at least getting to know her.
