Dr. Edward's classes are really cool, especially if your in to pop culture stuff. Her lectures are really interesting and she always uses multi media in her class (music videos, documentaries, movie clips). She is a fairly easy grader (will look over your essay drafts and offer feedback) and prepares you well for both exams. Also really nice

LOVED Dr Edwards. Had her for my senior seminar and her lectures are relevant and entertaining, made me feel like I wasn't even in class! There is a midterm, two papers (one short, one long), and an outside of class project. No final and on project due dates you have no class meetings. Take her she is seriously the BEST!

Dr. Edwards is extremely clear about what she expects from you, and it's not a lot. Just read the assignment, plop in some definitions for key concepts, and then she will go over them in class. If there were any other teacher more specific and detailed and crystal clear about when things are due and what she's looking for, I haven't found them!

INCREDIBLE PROFESSOR! You can tell that she is insanely passionate about her work and wants to consistently share new media/examples that she finds within current popular culture. Her class was FUN. I actually enjoyed doing the assignment because she let us write what WE wanted to write about. I would 100% recommend her!

Amazing professor! Always willing to work with you if you couldn't make a deadline, and was a VERY generous grader. Two papers, a midterm (which she gives you a study guide for), and three in class quizzes that she gives study guides out for. The material is common sense, and you watch shows often in class! Dr. Edwards is incredibly knowledgeable!

This professor is AMAZING to say the least. The material is interesting, funny and the class is basically a social media discussion. She works hard to get things back to you in a timely manner, give solid feedback and clear criteria. You never feel lost doing the work and you can write about anything. One of the kindest, most helpful professors.

I was really sad when this class was over because it was so much fun to go to. Dr. Edwards did a great job combining methods of testing. You have an online presentation, short essay, in class midterm, a few quizzes and a final paper, so if one area isn't your forté you can succeed elsewhere. She gives online lectures occasionally which are nice.

Dr. Edwards is super nice and intelligent. Fair warning though- she does not always grade easy so if you want an A expect to work for it. Some of the readings for class can be a bit dry but she connects everything to pop culture so it's more interesting. I would recommend participating in class as much as you can Taking her again for what is a text

Dr. Edwards is one of the best English professors I have taken at FSU. Unlike many Critical Issues teachers, she makes sure that the literature for the course is relatable and easy to comprehend since the content of the course is difficult. She is always available, interesting, and witty. I highly recommend her for this course!

Comment:

Great professor. Uses lots of media to facilitate learning (tv episodes, documentaries, movie clips, music, etc). Gives the specifics for what is on each quiz a week before you take it. Only read one novel for this class; read lots of theory but it wasn't dry. She's very lenient with EVERYTHING; you'd have to try hard to get less than an A.
