This is by fat the worst teacher I have ever come across. If you go to her office hours and dont understand something she makes you feel like an idiot for not understanding what she so poorly teaches. Half the class got Fs on our first exam. Should be an indication of her awful teaching, not the students.

She is AWFUL,got As on all of the reading and still ended up with a D-! she isnt clear at all, oh and dont show up in pajamas or she will tell you that you may should drop the class because you dont take it serious enough. She spits out her political opinions ALL THE TIME!which was completely inappropriate for history of civ...she should be fired.

She's not as awful as everyone here thinks. You can definitely learn a lot from her. Extremely knowledgeable woman. I did poorly on her tests, but I got enough extra credit to get an A. Go to class every day and read test questions carefully.

She is the worst teacher I have ever had in my life.I am a history major and ended up dropping out of it. She doesn't grade you on your knowledge of history but rather your opinion and grammar. She will go off on 20 minute rants about how stupid you are and how horrible America and the government is. DO NOT TAKE HER SERIOUSLY !!!!

I'm sitting in this lady's class right now. She is very boring, often spouting off about irrelevant information or stories. You can get the opinion from day one that shes the embodiment of hippie liberalism. Her exams consist of many general questions which force you to remember everything about a subject, but you have about an hour to write.

Lectures are very boring and the overhead outline she uses is CONFUSING! Tests consist of IDs, an essay and fill in the blanks. She is a very harsh grader!! Expects you to write exam essays at an english major's level! She always goes off on random tangents about herself. The only good thing I can say is that she gives a lot of extra credit.

This professor was wonderful. She was hilarious and she cared about what she was teaching. She often went off on tangents about her travels outside the country. She gives extra credit on all her assignments. If it was worth 50 pts. you could get a possible 60-65 on it. The tests were difficult if you didn't study and take notes. Awesome Teacher!

This woman acts like she is grading an english major's essay for you tests. She gives you an hour to do 13 short answer questions, 4 ids, and an essay (which she grades extremely hard) and expects the essay to be perfect. I'm a History major and I have never done so bad on a test in history in my life. She is a very nice lady but grades too hard.

RUINED MY GPA! I am a history minor and she is absolutely horrible! She insists on plastering her political views into every medium possible. She actually said several racial, sexual comments that offended me. For some reason EVERYTHING related to sex in her mind. TESTS WERE UNREASONABLE.

I think its unfair to blame her for being a bad teacher when you probably dont study at all. I got straight As in all her tests. I think shes a FANTASTIC teacher. Makes the class so funny and interesting. Gives bonus points for attendance and its easy to get full marks on the newspaper assisnments. Class worth taking.

Bad teacher. I have never had to take so many notes in class, 99% of which were useless. If you dont write down every word she says you are screwed. Asks very obscure questions on tests to make sure you took the notes, doesn't actually test on any important information. She throws in her political opinions non-stop. Unbearable if ur not a leftist

You will learn a lot from this professor. Take her if that's what you're in college for. If your in college just to get by quickly and easily, then no, don't take her. I would recommend her, it's a nice challenge that so many professors at Kent State don't offer.
