Comment:

In order to do well, this is the time to learn how to kiss a**. This class makes the stongest students want to drop out. Be prepared to work super hard and be totally disrespected by him. Dont let him make you cry, he loves it. This prof is satan in disguise, pray for a good group. I still have nightmares about this class

Comment:

Prepare yourself, this class was hard to follow. Simply reading isn't enough. Force yourself to digest the information and take more time than other classes to learn. Pop quizzes are difficult, along with his tests. You'll thank god once you're finished with the final research paper, pray you get intelligent people to work with!

Simply not a teacher, treats you with little respect and will talk down to you. He basically forces you to see him for the project and is not very helpful during meetings, he looks at something tells you its fine and then marks it off when he grades it later. Pop quizes are easy but you cant miss class. Hard Class but have to take it with phares

I have a 3.9 GPA and I know a good professor when I see one... Phares is not. He knows what he is talking about but is not a good teacher. I could swear he is senile, as he often changes his mind/makes things up as he goes. He forgets things too which makes everything even more difficult.

This class is hard, and you have to take it with Phares anyway. He is a really great guy though, tests are not that bad if you study for them, and hope you get a good group for the project. It takes up a lot of time. He is so helpful, go in to see him as much as possible, your grade will improve! I switched him to my advisor after I had the class

Phares is a nice guy but is rough around the edges. Try and stay on his good side or he will rail you all semester. Always read before class, you never know when he will give a quiz. Tests are extremely difficult. If you get a good group and put some effort into the project, you should get at least a B which will save your grade more than likely.

tells cheesy jokes, study definition terms in book and you can get at least a "C" if not a "B" on his tests, group project.. if your in a good group, you can pull your grade up a lot with the project. does quizes usually every other class, attendence is exremely important, he takes points off your attendence for every class you miss, but a good guy

Don't even think he's going to help much on the research project. He will mark you off, tell you how to do it, and then mark you off again for doing what he says. This guy needs to get out of teaching, or learn how to teach us to apply the statistics taugh in class to the project itself. Waste of time and by far the worst class in my entire life.

It isn't necessarily difficult, just very time-consuming. The project's difficulty level does change depending on competence of group members. For his pop quizes, if you study the book before each class (before the few weeks on stats, cause he usually won't quiz on long equations) it should be fine. Remember to study his handouts for the tests.

There is a chart in the book. He spent 15 minutes in class duplicating that chart on the board. AND THEN he gives us a handout of the same chart he just drew on the board that was already in the textbook. Even though his teaching style isn't my cup of tea ( word for word out of book), he is a very nice guy with a sense of humor and a good heart.

He's a really nice guy, tells jokes in class. The class is really hard and the project will stress you out like whoa. Pop quizzes are hard. Study the outlines and notes, don't worry about the text for the tests. If you need help on a section of the project, go to him several days before it's due or he won't help you out much. He's not that bad

He's not as bad as everyone makes him out to be. He just takes an old school approach to grades. Don't him to expect to be sympathetic to a bad grade. If you put in the time and effort, read the chapters and go to class, you should get a solid B. Classes are boring, but must be taken if you are a business major.

This class was not as bad as I had expected based on people's comments. The project is a lot of work, but it is not hard if you just pay attention and ask for help if needed. Read the chapters everyday for the quizes and study the lecture notes for the exam. If you put in the work, you will be rewarded.

You can't avoid taking this class if you are a business major because he is the only professor for this class. All of the quizzes and tests are mostly from the book. You can't miss class because he gives a pop quiz every week. If you get a good group your grade should be alright even if you don't do amazing on the tests and quizzes.

Yeah it pretty much sucks that this class is required, but you can do nothing about it. He is old, mumbles and grumbles. He is helpful outside of class, but sadly enough even that isnt good enough. watch out on the group projects--get a bad group and you are SCREWED for life.

Pray really hard that you get a good group. He puts you in groups according to the role, so if you have friends close to your last name you may have the group together. Be ready to work super hard and have no social life. He takes everything from the book so do the book quizes. Be ready for your GPA to drop because of the quizes and test

If you're a business major, you gotta take him so prepare, prepare, prepare. Come to every class prepared for pop quizzes. Cancel all social life until semester is over. Pray you get a good group. His advise will basically screw you up, but if you don't go to see him, you will get a lower grade. Suck up or say bye-bye to your GPA.

Mother of god. This class was insanely hard. Quizzes ARE designed to lower your grade, I think the highest I ever got was a 70. You need to study your ass off for the tests. He is willing to help you outside of class, and if you are doing bad enough he will offer extra credit. Group project was a LOT of work. Take it in the summer if you can.
