I had Linda as a teacher for about 3 weeks. I have really been enjoying her style and funny comments in class, but sadly, today I found out that she had passed away over the weekend. I was truly looking forward to class with her. May she rest in peace. Condolences to her daughter and son whom she spoke fondly of in class.

I love this lady, I had her Winter Quarter and all she talked about was the weather and if she heard it was going to snow and how she and her professor friends say UC stands for "under construction." Anyway, reallyyyyy easy class, I felt like I put a lot more effort into my papers than I would have had to...I would highly recommend her!

Keep your papers short and funny. It doesn't matter if they are full of grammatical errors. As long as you entertain her, you'll get an A. Write a well-crafted serious or informative essay, completely free of errors, and you'll get a B. Her only explanation-she was bored.

really poor class.it wasn't her,it was the subject matter.(she claimed she did not determine the curriculum.)the whole class revolved around discourse communities.the material was just too abstract.i don't think she even knew what we were to write.there just wasn't enough discussion nor direction given.not 1 person got an A on the 1st essay.

SHe is awesome. She always let class out early, on days papers were due we just turned them in and left. Mostly tells stories about herself and stuff. Just assigns the work answers questions and thats it. Hardly any work. It was awesome.

This was an extremely easy professor. One of the easiest English classes that I have ever taken. If you hate doing lots of work, then you'll love this class. I highly recommend her! And her stories are so funny!

she is very nice, interesting, the syllabus was messed up but if you payed attention you knew what was due, she was overall easy. its mandatory to go to class but i think she stopped taking attendance toward the end of the quarter lol

Mercer is funny and cynical. She tells funny stories in class. She is a very fair grader. She is really interested in her subject, yet doesn't overkill. I would absolutely recommend her for Adv Freshman English class!
