Marilyn Barber is a very fair professor. She gives you the grade you deserve. Attendance is required and you have to do all the readings! She is so knowledgeable with things to do with women's studies, Canadian studies, and immigration studies. A great course for teachers college! I took Canadian Immigration with Dr Barber and loved it!

Easy to understand proffessor's lectures. Very well educated in area of study. Assignments explained well, and manageable. ALways availible for extra help if required or requested. Lectures can seem long, but they are always new info. WOuld recommend to anyone interested in Canadian studies, woman studies or immigration studies.

While I did very well in this course, I found the professor a bit hard to take. She had her own agenda and pushed it HARD, was rarely available for help, and let the class fall behind then made us rush to catch up. The final had a lot of obscure and convoluted questions. I wouldn't take another course from her.

Found this professor very difficult to please. Is very unclear as to what she requires but quick to berate when its not what she wants. A very frustrating course through lack of direction and help.

Tough to follow and unfamiliar with newer material. Super boring lectures. This was an intro course and thus was pretty boring as there was little focus.

Prof. Barber is by far one of the best profs in the History dept. Her lectures are interesting and grading schemes pretty easy. Gives points for attending a class you actually want to go to.
