This was a great class with amazing information. This professor is very knowledgeable on the subject matter and shares via lectures and discussions. The people in my class who did think so were only looking for an easy A, and were not there to learn.

Homework was light with only two discussions and one paper the entire semester. There were three exams total that have to be taken at the testing center. Not all multiple choice either! You pretty much have to study the entire textbook (which he wrote) to pass. Since he did not have many assignments, my test scores made my grade low. Not an easy A.

This is a great class, but his testing methodes are difficult. Really forces you to learn which isnt a bad thing. His tests where fill in format with about half being word match or multiple choice. 2 discussion posts and an essay about a sociology related book from his reading list. Abnormal grading as out of a possible 100 75 gets you an A.

This professor should have a warning label next to his name DO NOT TAKE. Class is online however you must mail or go to the campus to turn in your paper & take your tests at the campus. Test questions are so random, you have no idea what to study. He made a easy course very difficult. I would not recommend this professor :(

He was definitely an amazing professor. Although alot of reading to do(The whole Sociology book plus one book you choose from a list to write a paper on) there were almost no assignments throughout the year and it was very clear grading criteria. If you do the reading and study for the tests you'll pass for sure. He even offers extra credit!!

Professor Bird was a nice guy. However; his class SUCKED. Tests were over 20 chapters and students were to know irrelevant specifics. For example, who was an author of a chapter which has nothing to do with sociology. Tests were ridiculous, no study guides at all. Do not take this professor.

Having to go to campus to turn in your paper & take your tests is not convenient whatsoever. A lot of the test questions are so random, irrelevant to the class content, and scattered in their subject matter it is impossible to know what to study for each exam.

A mess never clear he ask stuff the is so random on his quiz for one question he asks 3. Not going along with the book. His lectures are long a boring this class was supposed to compliment Psy 210 but nothing. He just goes off on random things that comes into his min. I am psy major and have done very well in all my psy class. He is a soc major.

My course was online. The professor makes you buy the textbook which HE has written, but I didn't mind because its an easy read and is very specific to the exact course information. He gives great feedback, not just grades your work. Although this class was online, I had to go to campus to take the exams and mail or hand deliver written papers.

It is fairly easy to pass this class, you are basically on your own to set up when you want to study. There was only one essay paper to write! Reading is quite simple and straight forward, no headaches at all! Though i don't like how technical his "turn in" options are for the essay and tests. These are done in person. the rest is through canvas.

One of the best professors I've ever had. The book for this class was a very good one. Please be prepared to read and learn if you expect to pass. I'm hard on myself if I earn anything less than an A, I received a B in this class and couldn't be more proud of that. Great Professor who really values the ideals of Education. TAKE HIS COURSE!

Online-only 2 quizzes&1 exam-all 3 on campus,1 paper mailed or personally handed in. Miss 1 exam (I did), you can still get points-you get half the points minus 1 based on final exam grade. Example-get 2830 on the final, you'll get 1315 on missed quiz. Very clear expectations. I still got the highest grade&he said he'd be happy to be a reference

Great Teacher! The class had three assignments, which consist of two chapter reviews and an essay. Also, there are three tests. Do not underestimate the tests, you should study hard for them. There are plenty of options for EC. If you are willing to put the effort in, he will help you earn the grade you want. He is quick to grade and to help.

Very professional man. Yes you must read entire text, but he lets you know exactly where to focus your studies. Exams are fairly straight forward, although there were a few random, irrelevant questions. Answers e-mails promptly. Minimal assignments allow for plenty of study time. Follow his directions and you will do well!

I took Mr. Bird for Sociology 101 online. Because it's online, it's up to you to keep up with the readings-but he tells you exactly what to study for the exam. He responds to e-mails quickly and gives a lot of feedback. Overall I'd say Mr. Bird is a nice guy and a great teacher.

I have found this professor to be very professional, passionate about the subject, interesting and very communicative. I've received feedback on all my work and am never left wondering what he thinks. He is 'to the point' but, fair and extends a lot of freedom. Wish we had more notice re extra credit opportunities because of my work schedule.

I have him for an online course, and find him very unwilling to provide positive criticism and unwilling to be flexible when a proctoring center closes. I take online courses because they're more flexible when you work ft, but this professor is not. I have a good grade in his class, but the fact he doesn't seem to care about his students is wrong.
