Dr. Krahling is such a nice professor. Chem is a very hard subject to learn and he is such an approachable professor to see during office hours and will help you work through problems. His quizzes are fairly easy and if you show work he will give some credit. His test can be more difficult. Lab he is so relaxed and grades easy.

Dr. Krahling was one of the best professors I have had throughout my whole college experience. He is caring and wants to make sure his students understand what is going on. He is a pretty easy grader and his labs are fun. I highly recommend to take his class.

If you do not have a background with chemistry knowledge, do not take krahling. He expects you to know everything from the beginning, which some people do but I did not know much about chemistry. He overloads you with online newton assignments every week. He also does not post any grades, besides for midterm! Exams are very difficult to study for!

Dr. Krahling does not teach in class. You will practically have to teach yourself everything outside of the classroom or use the knewtons he assigns for homework to teach yourself. Overall, I DO NOT recommend taking Dr. Krahling. I got through the class with a lot of studying but learned practically nothing from him and many of my peers agree.

Dr. Krahling is one of the most caring and helpful professors I have ever had in my life. If you have trouble with something in lecture or lab, he is always accessible to help outside of class. I would 100% recommend Dr. K (as we call him) for either lecture or lab if you want to have fun learning difficult material.

Dr. Krahling is an amazing hands-on chemistry professor who can inspire his students in the laboratory. However, in lecture, Dr. Krahling can get lost in his thoughts and spend a large portion of class on a certain topic. More practice problems are the key to succeed in his classroom.

"Dr. K", as we called him in class, made lab a fun and relatively easy process. He wants to make sure that you have written down the lab in your notebook BEFORE LAB, especially the purpose of the lab!

Pros- He will work with you if confused. He is funny. He's lid back, but gets to work. Cons- Difficult to follow his explanations to the lab. Unfortunately he is all over the place, not very organized. Grades pre/post labs pretty fair, but it's hard to get all points Eh- Know what you're doing before getting to lab, that's his biggest thing.

Krahling was one of the most unorganized professors Ive ever had. His lectures were all over the place, and he made something that could be explained in 2 minutes an hour long. He never puts grades up, and if you try to email him, you wont hear back. Nice guy, but not a good professor.

I don't do very good with science and I thought since this was chemistry for (elementary) educators that we would only be learning the basics, but i was wrong. The tests are extremely difficult and you only have three class times before you take each test. Very hard class unless you are very good at chemistry.

Dr. Krahling is the best Chemistry professor I've ever had. He is extremely helpful and is willing to spend as much time as needed outside of class to make sure you understand. The class is extremely difficult, I won't lie, and there is easier professors out there. But if you actually want to LEARN instead of just RECITE then he is for you.

Comment:
Dr. Krahling is a very good chemistry professor. Attendance is not mandatory and he does not require a textbook (though it is helpful, as chemistry is a very hard subject!). Dr. Krahling is very interested in chemistry, and he demonstrates it by actively involving the class in his lectures. He will ask questions & expect answers, but it's actually a good aspect of the course; chemistry is hard to grasp, so he keeps the students involved rather than reading from a powerpoint like other professors do. He can get off topic at times (or spend an entire period discussing one topic) and be hard to reach outside of class, so that is why I gave him 4 stars; but other than that, he's definitely the professor to take. He has a quiz every week, but they're helpful because they force you to study. They're on the same day each week so there's never any confusion. He has 3 exams and online homework assignments about once every two weeks. The class was easier for me because I had a background in chemistry, but I'd still consider it one of the lesser difficult chemistry courses. I'd also suggest taking him for lab best lab instructor I've ever had and absolutely hilarious.

Best chemistry instructor I've ever had. Keeps class interesting & alerts students to any upcoming extra credit opportunities. A generous grader & does a good job explaining the course material within the allotted time. Chemistry may not be easy for everyone but if you pay attention, do your homework, & ask him for help when needed you'll do well.

Dr. Krahling is a very engaging professor. He tends to wander around the room during lecture to get the class involved and asks a lot of questions, but it doesn't matter if you know the answer. I feel he truly wants you to learn and enjoy chemistry. The class environment is very comfortable, but he has a tendency to get off topic.

Krahling can be disorganized and can easily get off topic and stay off topic for the entire class. He is funny and the lab is really relaxed. He only takes up the first homework. Be sure to get the test from the year before or you will be lost on the test.
