Please don't take this professor!! He only gives midterm and final. He's not very helpful when you come to him with questions. He makes you feel stupid if you ask a question that you don't understand. If someone isn't an Accounting major you shouldn't expect them to be a genius in the subject. If you can avoid taking him please do!

If your quantitative skills are diminished don't expect the instructor to slow the pace of instruction. A Midterm 50% and Final 50% is heavy if you fail one to recover from. The instructor does criticize the book often and gives couple examples of problems in class. My advice prep your self with TUTORING prior to taking this class, its tough!

The class is curved - which wasn't mentioned until the day of the midterm. The final was easier than the midterm, and he gives an easy extra credit assignment. No homework week to week which was nice but you still need to study for the exams bc they make up the entire grade! Both exams are MC only.

This class is designed to be challenging and you will not get an easy A. Successful students will need to be organized and take concise notes from the lectures and be prepared to master the problems noted in the syllabus. Its grad school so not only will you need to memorize a large amount of information, you will need to look deeper to succeed.

The worst professor ever. He doesn't prepare ppt or anything. He just randomly pick some problems from each chapter. It won't helpful with your midterm or final at ALL!!! I keep complaining the textbook but still use it, the reason is obvious- he doesn't need to prepare for the class anymore as he keep on using the same book. A horrible teacher.

He was a very funny guy, but I don't think he has the best teaching style. He goes over one or two problems per chapter and that's it. No homework and no examples. So, the next time you see that topic will be on the midterm or final. You'll do fine as long as you take the time to do problems on your own or reteach it to yourself.

This class is not as difficult as it's made out to be so don't freak out. Midterm 40%/Final 60% (both curved). This wasn't rocket science, but he was a pretty bad teacher and the worst one I've had in Strobel thus far. Literally just reads off the book for the entire class. I taught myself everything. If you read and do the HW, you'll be fine.

40% midterm, 60% final. There is an extra credit opportunity that can boost you half a grade, but the course content itself can be really difficult. He doesn't use Powerpoints or anything else during lectures, you have to bring your textbook to every single class. He does give helpful study materials for the exams though! Very nice & funny guy!

Prof. McCarthy is really good professor. His teaching style is very straightforward. He will usually summarize the topics and will focus on the important bits. I suggest to study the topic beforehand so itll be easier to digest while actually in class. The only downside is the grade is only based on two things: midterm exam and the final exam.

Class is graded by two things; midterm and final. He does give you extra credit opportunity, though it only gives a "baby-boost" towards the final (meaning if you get a B, it'll be boosted to B+). Midterm and finals are very difficult and highly recommend studying with a group. Both of them are curved (50% is a "C" for his class) good luck..

Avoid if possible. HW is not for credit so you are not really motivated to do it. Reads off the book the entire class. Doesn't make the effort to do a presentation or something that would simplify material. The worst is that he was basically the only one teaching that course. No choice. Irrelevant complains about the book but he still uses it.

The hardest class I've taken at DePaul. I had a 4.0 going into the class, but I got a B and I worked so hard for it. The grade is 40% midterm 60% final, but there's never homework. I did feel like I learned a lot, but only because I studied so much for the exams. It's probably not his teaching that makes it hard, it's the material thats a challenge

Professor McCarthy is very knowledgable about Cost Accounting. His class is made up of two exams, and there is an extra credit assignment that really helps. Take good notes, study, and be ready to attend every class.

He is a very knowledgeable person, no doubt about it. However, he does not engage the students. When students asked him questions, he just read the answers, no further explanation. You need to read the book and practice a lot. The exams are very challenging.

Hard greater!!! only give 2 exams, midterm and final worth 50% each. Homework and attendance is not mandatory but exams are extremely hard!! There's just some people who are not meant to be teachers.

Get ready to teach yourself the materials. I didn't learn a thing with him. Only managed to pass the class by getting a tutor and putting lots of hours into reading the book. Then you try to see him during business hours and he refuses to help. Pretty useless.

His lectures are 100% by the book. No powerpoints, but literally goes through the chapter(s) - writes out (good) notes on the board - and speaks about everything. Doesn't get off-topic much, which I liked. However the lectures did seem to run on some times. Do the HW problems he assigns BEFORE class (not too many) and pay attention.

Mark is a professional and energetic professor. His class is clear and well-prepared, and he got a lot of experiences about teaching. I suppose. Overall, it's worthy to take his class.
