Comment:
Grades qualitatively instead of quantitatively. This means that you could completely understand the material, but hell take a few points off for each of your explanations. Never felt like my exam grades matched up with my understanding of the topics.

Lectures are really fun and he uses a lot of real-life examples. You HAVE to read the book before lecture otherwise you'll be lost. He gives helpful practice exams. Never seen a prof so willing to help students & so caring about their success but he makes you work for it. He is passionate about chem which makes his lectures so entertaining.

I loved Dr. Waner. He was always there to help and when I wasn't able to make his office hours, I would email him and he would always find time for me to meet with him. His tests are very similar to the practice problems and between that and reading the book the tests were very manageable. His lectures were sometimes boring but other times engaging

Comment:
He is extremely enthusiastic during his lectures He can sometimes seem patronizing as he often explains concepts basically using older concepts before getting into the nitty gritty There is a lot of written homework usually 1 or 2 each week on concepts that haven't been learned yet but they are graded based on completion so only effort matters

Waner lectures in a very patronizing tone, but it's one that you'll enjoy. He's very knowledgeable in his field and explains things clearly. His tests are more than fair and are nearly identical to his practices exams. Extremely lenient grader. You will need to turn in many homework assignments and have weekly (pop?) quizzes but great overall.

He is very enthusiastic about chemistry. He teaches a lot of concepts in class, but that is it. He rarely does examples in class, which makes doing the homework very tough. You have to teach yourself all the problems because he only teaches the concepts. This also makes the exams very tough because you have learn the problems by yourself.

He's an extremely enthusiastic guy when it comes to Chemistry, but he gets too excited and gets off track too often. He is constantly trying to teach you a whole new chapter in the last 5 minutes of class. He will schedule an exam on example chapters 4 and 5, but the week before the exam he'll teach you chapters 6 and 7.

Dr. Waner is a really nice guy! He really knows chemistry and is really good at explaining concepts. The tests were unfair and he grades hard. You really have to work for your grade. But he's very approachable and helpful!

Dr. Waner is a nice guy and always willing to help, but second semester was tough! I studied hard for all the tests and still I felt the tests could be unfair. He was good at explaining chemistry, but didn't give good enough examples to be prepared for the test.

the beginning of this class was fun and interesting. towards the end, he got really boring and the material got tougher. he is very nice and willing to help. most of the class fell asleep towards the end of the semester. it took a lot to stay awake in that class. see him if you have any trouble, he's soo nice!

a really tough professor. you will have to work hard for your grade but is very generous with points on exams. very helpful and always willing. lectures straight out of the text so i took my notes in the margins. hes the best but not an easy A.

He is very clear in class, very organized, very helpful. His tests arent that bad, just over prepare for the first one. I didnt do as good as i wanted to on the first one but it was probably my fault. I got A's on the next two tests. I'm not a big fan of his quizzes, but he does grade homework just on completion, so its all good. Take him!!

Really good teacher in my opinion...and not incredibly hard, was able to pull an A for first and a B+ second semester. His tests progressively got harder, but they were pretty fair. He's very willing to give help, just can be kind of fast-paced in class. His neon lab goggles kick butt though and he does the coolest demos. High recommendation.

Kind of a d-bag, and a toolshed. Class was easy as hell, made my HS honors chem class look tough. If you had any advanced chem in HS take this to get the req. Used to go wasted to his class to stay awake, never had a clue We used to call it Alchys chemistry, easy as hell, and go to class slammed
