Comment:

The material of the course was relatively easy for me, with no Calculus background. I struggled because of how harshly he grades for terminology. I lost points for writing increased vs. increasing. It sounds minor, but your grade can take a major hit on exams. I recommend actually taking a real Calculus course. This is an English class.

I don't know why everyone hates on him so much. He's old and tries to joke with us sometimes. Even though it's not always funny, he tries to relate to us and make business calc somewhat of a bearable topic. He's the first math teacher I've had who actually wants you to understand the concepts rather than just memorize the steps. Just pay attention.

He was awful. He would talk most of the class and then zoom through the exercise. Watch carefully for all the calculator steps.. it's then or never.

Worst professor I have had at OU. When I went to his office he would make inappropriate comments and was not even helpful! If you dont know how everything on your calculator works then good luck. He will show you once and then you better know it! He wasn't enjoyable to listen to and was hard to comprehend. Take a different section

This class was awful. I ended up skipping class most days because I was more confused when I went. If I ever asked for help, I never received it and left feeling like an idiot. If you can, take another class. If you can't, get a tutor as soon as the semester starts.

He is a good teacher and always willing to help. To be successful in his class do the homework! And don't forget units on your answers or you will lose points. If you attend class and do the homework you will be fine. He is pretty funny and keeps class interesting.

His lectures are very helpful at explaining the concepts. Make sure to do the homework as the homework problems are more difficult than the exams and are good preparation. Also look at the old tests he posts, the tests are almost identical.

He is one of my favorite professors at OU. His lectures are enjoyable and contains useful information for the test. Take him,you won't regret it. Great all around guy. Will help you in office hours if need be.

Worst professor I've ever had. DO NOT sit in the front because he will target you and mock you during class when you ask questions. He makes this class impossible. You have to have taken another calculus class previously to understand what he's talking about. DO NOT go to his office hours because he will make you feel worthless.

Horrible, horrible, horrible professor. Couldn't explain things to save his life. Boring. Half the class left lectures before class ended. Went off on tangents a lot. Tests had nothing to do with lectures. Ended up having to teach myself. That didn't work either.

His notes and class lectures are just awful. There is no reason to even go to class, or try on his quizzes. The one good thing about him is that he will try his best to meet you anytime to go over work.

He's funny. I never really attend class, and when I do, I rarely pay attention and make pretty good grades. REALLY picky on tests about units. You'll probably have to teach yourself a lot of the material, but he's helpful and entertaining. Probably difficult if you've never taken calculus before.

By far this has to be the worst Calculus class. When it comes to examples, he does the bare minimum while on the tests, the problems are completely alien to those he goes over in class. Every time I try to ask for help on a problem, (and this is true) he makes me feel like a complete idiot.

Took him for calc... Basically tells jokes half the class period and fails to explain the chapters. Dosnt prepare you for tests, and expects you to learn EVERYTHING on your own. When you go to his office hours he makes you feel dumb for asking questions. He is a nice persom but a not so good teacher.
