You need to pay attention to the Professor and try. Their are many people that are in the class that don't even try to produce a decent essay and when your in this class you need to be at college level. I think people complain because they are not putting an effort into it and it shows in their grade!

She teaches High school level skills and she expects "College" essays material. She will grade you with a passing grade in the beginning of semester, until mid.semester your grades will automatically decline and she will send you off to register for the Writing Center and Tutoring. We started out with 30 and ended with 5 people! Can you believe that? I fell asleep twice midlecture and she didn't care! I wanted to drop every day. Seriously. It is amazing she is still teaching!!

She's dry and doesn't have a sense of humor. It's literature, what do you expect? Do the work and you pass. It's the trying to stay awake part that's hard. Read, participate, write 4 papers(5 pages double spaced)a couple of pop quizzes on assigned reading,a midterm and final and you pass. This isn't an easy class.

I loved english b/4 taking this class. It was very hard to understand what she wanted out of your essays on 1 of my essays she wrote very good essay D!?! Later i asked why she said i would've gotten an A if it wasn't for the 3 run ons i had. i agree with the rest she looks at u like ur stupid or she hates you.

Yea, I totaly agree with all the comments. I totaly thought she just hated me for some odd reason, but I guess she has that look towards everyone. Don't take this class if you want a fun learning environment. She is sooooooooo boring and stands in one spot behind the podium the whole 2 hours! Ahhhhhhhhh STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN!!!!!

Detested this class with every fiber of my being, assignments were not at all interesting, lectures (umm what lectures?), and can I just say she has horrible taste in poetry and plays. If you want to push yourself to the very brink of frustrated insanity, take this class!
