Prof Bonafont was by far the best instructor I have had at ACC by miles. She is very straightforward about how to get an A in her class and does everything she can to assist. Truly a gem.

Great attitude, but horribly disorganized lessons and a lot of at home reading. The material she goes over in class is not on the test, its all the at home work

Took Prof. Bonafont's HIST1301 over the summer. 4 tests (25 MCQ each) and 4 in class optional essays, but only had to pass 3 essays to get an A. She gave us the essay prompts ahead of time to prep. There was A LOT of reading, and she lectured nonstop. She did cover most of the stuff on the test, if not just make sure to look over learning obj.

I do not recommend her!! Please choose someone else if you got an option. LECTURES ARE VERY BORING. She never stops! Tests are very confusing and also have an essay section but she gives out the options a week ago. She def needs to change her lecture style. Nobody paid attention in class. If you are forced to choose her, good luck.

Bonafont is the best. Super interesting and engaging lectures, infectiously passionate about history. You will read a LOT from both textbooks but readings are genuinely interesting. Participation is important! Makes you work for an A, but gives you a true understanding of and love for history in return. 100% would and will take again.

if you are fine with long lectures, whole bunch of reading. i mean reading two books come on i dont got time to read two books. there is no homework, no powerpoint, no extra credit. i wouldnt recommend taking this class if you dont like just lectures for the whole class. school is just a waste too just trying to get a degree and move on with life.

Amazing professor! 4 tests,3 of those with an essay that she gives options for a week in advance, she gives learning objectives for each unit test& outlines for each chapter u only need to read!NO PAPERS! Honestly if u read and take notes it should be an easy B or A. Her lectures are interesting pay attention & take notes. I've taken her before.

She was a very nice professor, and super understanding. I do think she really cares about the success of her students. I will say, lectures are VERY BORING and every test you have to have an essay with 3 sources memorized. The lectures don't have any powerpoints or videos so I pretty much just taught myself from the book.

Prof. Bonafont has an infectious love for US History- she really knows her information and what the course is all about. She adds a lot of additional information. This class is only lecture, with 3.5 tests you're graded on. Heavy on the reading homework- but no papers or anything else otherwise. She's a wonderful teacher if you're ok with lecture.

Not sure how she has 4.0.. DO NOT take her class. This is history so of course its boring but she makes this class boring!! you can barely stay awake. Be extra prepared for the essay questions. You can't do this 5 mins before class so pay attention when she talks about the readings in Voices of Freedom. If you just try, she will reward you for it

I'd rather watch paint dry than attend this class. Her lectures were SO boring and focused a lot on class participation. I participated quite a lot and didn't receive full credit. History should be fun, but I dreaded coming to class every day. She lectured the whole 2 hr class, read boring documents, and had you memorize an essay every exam.

Bonafont is the nicest professor at ACC! always so sweet and willing to answer any question you may have. Her tests are hard but if you read the book and study the learning objectives, you are going to be fine. Going to class is not going to help you if you are not reading the book!! No extra credit, only participation, 4 tests, and a practice test

I truly enjoyed this class. Professor Bonafont is a great professor and I enjoyed her lectures. She encouraged participation and questions. She also hands out learning objectives and an outline for each section. It is a decent amount of work to get all the questions answered, but it will make the tests much easier.

I enjoyed prof. Bonafont this semester. She hands out learning objectives at the beginning of every unit and outlines to follow during her lectures. As long as you keep up with the readings and learning objectives then you're good to go! Having said that, you are required to purchase two books (they come in a bundle) that are vital to passing.

She's an amazing professor. I had her for US History II and I plan to take her US History I class in the fall. She gives 4 tests total (including the final which is not accumulative). The tests are 25 multiple choice and one long essay question. Her lectures are helpful and gives clear study outlines for each test.

Only grades you get are the "Practice test" + the other 4 unit tests. She literally just rambles for an hour and a half and is prone to getting off topic. Very boring method of teaching, however, she is really nice and grades easy when it comes to the essay portion of her tests.

Professor Bonafont is a very nice lady but her teaching style is insanely boring and ongoing. She lectures the entire class and half of the time she doesn't really make sense, so it's hard to follow. I got through her class by teaching myself, and doing the review for the tests. I would not take her unless you like heavy and ongoing lectures.

I felt like her lectures have been inconsistent. Many times she's been going off topic which really bothers me. Generally, the class remains quiet most of the time, very few students ever respond to her questions during her lectures. I don't recommend this professor.

This teacher cant get any worse. Test have nothing to do with the learning objectives that she gives you and lectures for the entire class . I never missed a day of that class and still took off points for attendance and participation. Do not take her class

Took a semester of History 1301. Was the worst decision of my life. Her lectures are very ongoing and seem like they never end, on a test that the whole class failed she went on a rant about how we were her worse class and did not curve it. Takes points based on participation which nobody actually does because she does not stop lecturing.
