what ever you do DO NOT!!! take any of his classes....i had him winter quarter and he would say snow days were not a good reason to not be there. All he would do is sit there and read right out of the book and not let students be students...i wanted to learn spanish but at the end of the class i learn nothing!!!

I took 101 as an "easy A" since I've had 4 years high school experience. I do not know how ANYONE can learn from this man. I'm an A student and I had trouble occasionally. He doesn't allow students to do the STUDENT activities, he does it himself. He is very snippy and mean. DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASSES WITH THIS MAN!!!!

He is prolly the meanest professor I've ever had. He does not teach the subject clearly. I learned more about Spanish from the girl I sat next to than I did from him. Don't take him if you don't have to. Take Stephen Barnes if you can. You will learn so much more from Barnes than you will from Larmeu.

He is immensely boring, he only reads from the book. Also, this guy who has to be around 60 thinks he knows everything about computers, when he doesn't know much. Also when teaching he does the exercises himself and doesn't engage the class. Don't take him...

Paul was by far the worst prof I have ever had. I placed into 203 my freshman year, and even though that's rare and a big accomplishment, he acted like I was going to be a big inconvienience. Because of this he would say "well your the smart one" he was just rude and not helpful. i'm glad he's retiring.

Paul is a very fair, knowledgeable teacher. He is a little quirky but if you take the time to listen to him you can learn alot. I was in his class for 2 years and I learned alot but I had to accept that he had a "method to his madness" so to speak. His teaching style is different but he does know what he is doing. I would take his class again.

I knew more spanish before I took the class. He managed to confuse me on topics I learned my freshman year of HIGH SCHOOL! Talked for 2 hours about things that didn't relate to spanish, and kept us late when he realized that he acomplished absolutely nothing in the class.

luckily, i've had prior experience with spanish, so i was able to get by in that class, but he talked to our 101 class like we were supposed to know everything already. he went way to fast (even his english seemed unclear), and a lot of his lectures could have been eliminated because he was clearly talking just to hear himself speak. a lot of it was pointless, and he's probably the most high-strung person i've ever met. i dont recommend him. in fact, hes probably the worst teacher ive had in my 2.5yrs there

he talks ALOT and gives WAY too much info but all the stuff you need to know for the test in on the papers he gives. you can sleep through this class and as long as you have the paperwork you'll ace it. if you have taken Spanish in HS you'll be more than ok

If your looking for the Hitler of Spanish, you've found him. He enjoys weeding out those that are mildly weak in spanish and making their lives difficult. Unless you are a native spanish speaker, don't expect much out of this class.
