Melissa was extremely friendly and respectful all through class. She was caring for her students and made the classroom environment feel very comfortable. I never felt uncomfortable speaking up in her class or approaching her afterwards. If you don't feel comfortable with public speaking, Melissa is the perfect communications professor for you.

I thought that Mrs. O'Dell was a great professor! It's not easy having a 3 hour communications class but she makes it fun by bringing candy! She also does a great job with making the class feel comfortable. I personally hate speeches and talking in front of the class but by the end of that class I'm now completely comfortable! 10/10

Mrs O'Dell is seriously the nicest lady! Her class is SUPER easy. She will help you with ANYTHING you need, she always brings candy, and gives really relatable examples!

Not easy to get an A, but it's also not impossible if you put in some effort. We were only allowed to miss one class without a 40 pt deduction so that blows. 5 speeches; make sure you follow her format. Exams aren't hard if you study. You do some sort of impromptu speech during every class. She makes the class feel very comfortable together though.

Melissa O'Dell did a great job teaching this class. She has high expectations, but she helps you to achieve them. She creates a safe space to give your speaches, and helps build confidence with each class. I had a great peer group this class as well that really worked hard and took it seriously, which made for an even better experiece.

SHE'S AMAZING!! she is a nice lady and extremely helpful! gives extra credit and, if asked, will spend tons of extra time to help you write speeches or let you practice. shes so much fun! and also lets you leave class early and brings food each week!

If you have to take COM, take it with her! She is super nice and helpful and promptly repsonds to emails with questions. I hate giving speeches, but she makes you feel comfortable talking in front of the class. She encourages and works with you and she wants you to get a good grade. Take her!

She is extremely nice! I had an awesome class, so it was actually fun to go to class! She is extremely helpful and has a study day before the exams. Gives a few extra credit opportunites! She trys to make you as comfortable as possible when speaking in front of the class! I would recommend her to anyone!

She is so nice and helpful. She can be stern at times when grading, but it will help you in the long run. She makes coming to class fun and interesting, you'll like her a lot. Be careful this class can be confusing at times.
