His sense of humor can get a bit mean-spirited at times; he threatened to slam the door on a student's foot, then said "just kidding" with this insincere glint in his eye like he wasn't really joking. He rushes through the test review and refused to go back over a problem! Turns out the text could be $ as ebookwaited til a month in to tell us :o

ok here is the deal, if you are that guy that already works and just needs the degree for the better position and pay, take this class. if not well you still got to take this to be able to move on even for the lab, he rambles alot he will make you pay atention and then say u dont need this info. also he moves quick AF you need to read the book.

this is a good refresher class for those with prior background in automotive technology.I personally learned a lot about cars, but the class is too comprehensive (i was planning to take the class as a minor subject).take notes and go to classes.not reccomended for beginners take the lab class instead it's more practical

If you don't know cars prior to coming in, you won't be able to get an A simply by showing up. There is too much material to remember from the lecture for those who don't have previous auto classes or car experience. The best way to get an A is to take notes and record the lecture with a cell phone. Don't forget to record the exam review as well.

Great guy. He wants you to learn and will do what it takes to make sure you do. He knows his stuff and is always willing to over fill his classes if your enthusiastic about learning about cars. Good bit of note taking and reading but well worth it.

Brandt is a great teacher! He's funny and his lectures are fun. He will keep you awake at any costs so don't doze off. I bought the textbook but didn't touch it, you really just need to pay attention and take notes in his class. He re-emphasizes everything to make sure you understand. Recommended!

Mr Brandt is a wonderful teacher. He has a sense of humor which he displays daily. He does not put up with any crap but by doing so really benefits the people that would give it to him. Great teacher! I didn't get an A, but I'm sure I could have with more studying and not having missed some of the classes. He grades based on 4 tests and a final. There is a chance for extra credit, and I recommend taking it. Great teacher and great guy.

Brandt has a rare special gift of getting thru to people. I found my career after failing his classes and turned into an A student. Being in the auto program is a huge family and completely unlike any other classes at De Anza. Brandt is the head of auto tech and like the dad that busts your ass constantly to help you better your life. outstanding.

Mr. Brandt is the funniest guy I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. His class is challenging, but not overly difficult, and fun. He makes it easy to learn this complex subject. Word of caution: he has a low tolerance for idiocy, and doesn't hold back his opinions.
