Comment:
I hate people who don't do homework, don't work outside of class, then blame the teacher for not holding their hand. I'm someone who even reads the textbook, not just the notes. I read the entire chapter, powerpoint, and notes before the lab and I was completely lost on what the goal was. Absolutely unclear on the entire premise.

Stay away from this teacher. I learned absolutely nothing from him. Instead, I had to teach myself and hope for the best. His tests are hard because you dont know exactly what to have studied for. He sits behind his desk and isnt helpful. Honestly, you might fail the first time taking his class (I know plenty of people who didnt do well).

Being an engineering major I thought I had what it takes to handle this class. Its hard when Butros doesn't teach. Hes a nice guy outside of class but when it comes to teaching he is one of the worst professors I have ever had. I would highly recommend buying a physics book online and teaching yourself, because that's all that this class is.

Butros is an extremely incapable teacher.. Despite not being a hybrid class, his functions as such with lectures being online and examples in person. His examples, homework and quizzes are copy-paste with his homework being exactly ripped from online sources. Studying the lecture, notes, and book will not help at all in his class.

Comment:
The only good thing about Butros is the fact that his class schedule is clear and organized so you know what to expect each day in class. He does not teach, does not answer questions, and provides zero feedback when grading. If you have the opportunity to take this class with another teacher or elsewhere you should.

One of the worst professors I've ever taken. Although it was a hybrid class, he never taught us anything. He'd give us a lab and sit behind his desk. Wouldn't help us with our questions. Your grade in this class depends on how much you studied the "study guide". The tests are hard (again teaches you nothing), but lets you have a cheat sheet.

He doesn't teach! You're going to have to study and learn by yourself. His examples in class don't help much. The tests and quizzes depend on how much YOU study because you can't count on him to teach you. When you ask a question, he will answer you with another q.

Lecture, worksheet, and handout. Sounds pretty straight to the point but his lectures are NOT lectures. Has pre-written notes and just copies them down without even turning around. He just writes non-stop and doesn't explain. I would study the examples he gave in the lectures, read the book AND try the examples in the book at home.

He really cares for his students. Everything is on a schedule--lecture, worksheet, quiz. He's around all the time and as long as you have clear questions he is very helpful. He practices inquiry-based teaching so to get the most out of him you have to be an active participant in your education. If you put in the work, you will learn a lot.

Amazing teacher and very caring! Class set up is very simple: Lecture, Worksheet, quiz. I love the way this class was set up because it allowed students to work together and express different ideas each student had. I would highly recommend, he's honestly the most caring professor I've had by far!

Butros does not teach. Lecture, Worksheet, Quiz. Not enough characters to explain all the negatives with Butros. Worksheet and Experiment days display the worst of him. While students struggle to understand physics, this guy is on his iPad doing who knows what. He makes it worse when someone asks a question, and he responds like a brick wall.

Mr. Butros is probably the best teacher I've had at VVC. He's super respectful and truly cares about his students. He is your teacher as well as your friend. he makes hard topics understandable and wont hesitate to clearly and thoroughly explain anything you don't get. He lets you eat and drink in class and ends lab as soon as you're done.

Terrible. do not take this professor unless you want to set your self back in school and in life. I do not recommend this teacher for anyone. not even my worst enemies. Does not teach, you must teach your self, whether it is calculus or physics. Terrible Teacher Terrible Attitude. Not approachable. I warn you, do not take this terrible person.

Like what most reviews already mentioned Butro's always follows one basic class procedure: examples, worksheet, quiz. His examples are pretty clear if you follow him fast enough, his worksheets are doable if you work together with a group, and his quizzes are only 2 questions each.

LectureWorksheetQuizThats all you will be doing in this class Get the textbook it helps a lot trust me! read the material but do the problems in the book His lectures are not lectures he just does the problems on the board and writes many numbers and sometimes is like he speaking in a different language you want to learn physics?study on your own

He uses a teaching method called I.B.L. (Inquiry-based learning). In my opinion a class that is hard first time around was made harder with this method of teaching. I was really hoping he would back up what I studied at home with a powerful lecture but it never happened. Get into a good study group if you can, that is what will help you pass!

By then the end of this class you wont learn anything. If you can aviod taking this class you should. The curve balls for the class are wonderful but you wont learn anything. Great guy overall teaching skills just need a lot of improvement. You need a lot of motivation to survive in this class.

I don't know what the heck the people below me are talking about, this guy's great. His tests are a bit hard, but then again calculus based physics is a hard subject. He is very clear on what he's teaching and what he'll be testing on. Him and Dr. Ngobi are the best VVC has to offer.

he's a really bad grader... the tests are all timed so you don't have time to recheck anything... but if you make a simple arithmetic or algebra error he marks the problem up to half off and there's only 4 LONG questions so you can know and understand every concept very well, but easily fail the test on it. it's best to avoid him for higher math
