Professor Carney is Great! He is helpful, but isn't just going to give you the answer. If you show up and work well with your lab partner you can get out of lab pretty early.

Comment:
Too smart to be teaching an entry level course. Does not elaborate on topics and expects the student to teach themselves much of the material. Tests and quizzes require a ton of studying. Homework is easy if completed with a partner. Study and take good notes to pass this class. Ask questions and go in for office hours.

Excellent professor. First time doing CHEM 115 lab, but I have had no problems understanding him and have been able to accomplish the labs with ease and proper understanding of what's going on. Very helpful and personable. Definitely recommend.

Homework is impossible. Quizzes are tough. Goes way to fast through important subjects and slows down for the not important subjects. Answers questions that are way to advanced for Chem 103.

Good Professor...extremely intelligent man, and doesn't feel the need to proove it to his students by making his exams overly difficult. His teaching still is a little stale but he explains concepts with crystal clarity. Has a different sense of humor but a funny one. Class is a good continuation of 115 or 104...if Carney's teaching...take him!

best chemistry professor! he teaches you from basics so if your not a chem major like me then this class is what you should take. he is very clear on what he teaches and his tests aren't so bad. They are quite easy if you study the powerpoints. take him if you hate chem, he makes chemistry wayyyy easy.

A really good prof who is always available to answer your questions, although he is pretty stingy with giving out partial credit. This isn't an easy class, but if you take it, I would definitely recommend taking it with Prof. Carney

If you are looking for a chem class that doesn't assume you already know it, Carney is the teacher to take. He starts his topics from the begining and doesn't expect everyone to already know how to do things.

Very good. If you have had a year of high school chemistry it will be pretty easy. He uses powerpoint which is very nice. As long as you know everthing on the slides and on the objective list you will do fine on the tests. I ended up with an A in the class.
