Dr. Dover is an amazing professor. I highly recommended taking him if you can. I took an 8 week summer course and I did not feel stressed at all. Assignments are due about two-three times a week with clear instructions. He was also very available and willing to talk via zoom for help, as this was an online course. Quick email response as well!

Comment:

Highly recommend! He is lecture heavy, but his lectures are amazing! I learned so much! Expect to spend significant time, work hard, and write a lot (WAC course). He gives great feedback, grades quickly, and is always available for any questions you might have. Extra credit options. Final paper you work on throughout the semester instead of exam.

This professor always throws extra assignments at you every week, without including them in the syllabus, so you never even know it's coming. He is a very dedicated professor, but sometimes forgets that we have other classes besides his. I would not take one of his classes only because it is way too hard if you're taking other classes along with it

Prof Dover tries so hard.... but he is just so confusing. You can tell he cares about the topics and his students, but he ends up speaking about random topics that matter to him, and he never gets around to teaching you any of the course material....... Really sweet guy, but not a good professor.

Dr. Dover is an amazing individual. He is very knowledgeable and fully committed to the advancement of the social work profession, specifically, addressing human needs. His class does require much writing and reading. Despite the amount of work, I would take him again.

Professor Dover really cares about his students and he really wants you to understand the material and pursue social work. He goes off on rants all the time and is constantly going off topic and never really answers questions when you ask them. I really wanted to learn/do more in the class but he means well and he is a good professor.

The content seems overwhelming at first glance but I've had him for three classes and he's by far one of my favorite professors, you just have to give it a minute to get the routine down. Very caring, knowledgeable, and extremely flexible on assignments.

I learned nothing in his class because he does not teach. He is easily distracted and gets off topic. He gives little instruction on assignments and is obsessed with tinyurls and booknotesos. Attendance is counted and mandatory. All assignments are done online and he makes submitting assignments a pain in the butt.

Dover Dover Dover. He's all over the place but he is very understanding! If you need extra time on an assignment just talk to him and he will work with you. He doesn't really discuss material for the assignments in-class and definitely goes off topic for most of the class; but he's a good guy! I've had him for 2 different courses and love him!

Dr. Dover is someone who you can learn quality information from. Take advantage of this. His sometimes frantic demeanor and sporadic word salad can be trumped by the fact that this man is a respectable genius. If you really care about social work, advocacy and community outreach, Dr. Dover will teach you real invaluable life skills for your major.

I've taken Professor Dover for SWK 200, 201, 300. I've never felt like i was doing anything worth wild towards my degree until l i took his classes. OK he can be a little confusing but if you're confused he emails back. He gives his honest opinions on instructor feedback via black board. No test, give him a try totally worth it!

Professor Dover is the best I took him for SWK 200 AND SWK 201, I'll be taking him for SWK300 in the fall2015. He's passionate, although his online stuff can get a little confusing, he answers emails LIKE REALLY FAST! He loves his work, very kind to students. He wants you to learn and pass. You need to book. READ and respond well. Enjoy no test.

Dover is a good teacher, he wants you to pass. Reading his personal work I can see why he's a social worker, he cares for people all people regardless of race, or religion. Take the class it was easy, I hot an A. Do the work. Ask questions he can be confusing only the midterm this summer and no other test. Take him very honorable man.

Professor Dover was one of my favorite professors at CSU! I took SWK 201 last semester and was a little overwhelmed at first because his syllabus was a little confusing. After asking him questions about it through email (which he responds very quickly) he guided me in the right direction. Just keep up with the assignments and you will be fine!
