Comment:
This professor is the worst I have ever had. He does not teach the material, and expects you to figure everything out on your own. When you try to ask questions he either gives answers that are unhelpful or is condescending and rude. He also grades based on how he's feeling either in general or about you and tends to give girls higher grades.

Personally, I did not care for this professor. He tended to beat around the bush with any questions asked and acted as though you should automatically know what to do. When our class was moved to online, he used another professor's content and would not respond to any emails. I would take this class with another professor if you can..

Gives you all the tools you need to succeed. Great sense of humor, but it might not be for everyone. Make yourself known to him and he will get to know you. You'll like this man!

Had a great experience with this chem lab. If you show up and work hard, you'll do just fine. Explains everything you need to know, but don't expect to blow off the lab. Very accommodating, clearly cares about students, down to earth guy.

Mr. Garlick explains the lab directions and details very quickly, but he's there to ask any questions you may have throughout the lab, so it's fine. He has no lab exams or practicals, just 12 labs with the lowest dropped. He's a really nice guy and fun to just talk to about random things. His lab is very straight forward and relatively simple.

Great teacher! If you need help he will help you find the answer. He cares about his students and tries to make sure everyone has good results at the end of the lab. I would take him again.

Ask lots of questions, he will help you and usually give you the answer. Lowest lab report dropped. No final, only lab reports each week. Usually get out early.

The trick to Garlick's lab is once you think you know what is in the solution, have him remake it without the suspected element/compound. Do that, and you're guaranteed to get the right answer for the final, and that's basically what your entire grade is.

This professor was just there. He was not very approachable and often made students feel badly when they asked for help. His office hours were incorrect on the sheet and he entered grades in incorrectly several times. Despite this, he does mean well and is perhaps misunderstood. If you want a more enjoyable time, take a different lab professor.

I'm not at all a Chemistry person, I took this to fulfill my Gen. Ed. but he was a really good lab professor. Your entire grade is just the lab worksheets, and he doesn't have a lab final exam like some professors. He's strict about you wearing goggles and writing data in black pen, but other than that, pretty easy going.

When you ask him for help he will help you. That is awesome, but... He gets too "excited", for lack of a better word, and doesn't really explain the material in multiple ways that multiple people understand. Cares about your safety to the highest standard. The worst quality: expects you to just know what is going on instead of readily teaching you

Mr. Garlick is a horrible professor. He went off on tangents about nothing and never focused on important material. He also was never available for help and was quite incompetent in his subject. Lowered my GPA quite a bit with this class due to his lack of teaching skills.

Mr. Garlick was really nice and knew exactly what he was doing but he was also terribly unorganized. We didn't even get to start our lab until half an hour into class because he had to mix all of the samples. Overall though, he was really nice.

He can come off as rude during times. For example, if you ask him a question when he's thinking about something at the desk he'll reply with comments such as "Ask again later" and "I'm ignoring you right now, I'm busy thinking about sometihng else." He really expects you to be independent in this class, but you really have a question he will help

Pr. Garlick is an awesome professor, he is very helpful and explains things very well, he will do a ton of examples if the class isn't understanding it, he does quizzes in between the exams but they definitely easy so it helps your grade. TAKE HIM!! Easy A!!
