Great teacher! Yes a lot of quizes and test but only benefits you because the test are exactly like his study guide which he does for you!! Ya he makes you play board games but there is math involved and he is a math teacher! People should be happy to get 10% of their grade by playing games. So over all he cares about your grade.

Terrible teacher. Gave a number of quizzes and tests. Required students to come play games with him. Before the final,told students ,he had been sick and had not graded any of their work and grade would be based solely on the final. He asked what is lowest grade we wanted and if we did not get it on final, he would withdraw us with a WP.

I had Holcomb for introduction to statistics. it's obvious that he is very intelligent, but he's unable to communicate it very well to us. He does try to help when asked, but it's still difficult to understand.

Very difficult to understand; has equal difficulty in understanding his students. Teaches/Answers Questions illogically and nearly incomprehensibly. Overly technical when technicality shouldn't be main focus, hindered by inability to interact socially. Overly anal grading style. Works hard, enjoys his subject, but this is lost due to his drawbacks.

Awful professor. Excessively anal while grading. Mathematics need precision, but the professor gets overly zealous in showing off his knowledge. Mathematically, he knows what he's doing (mostly). Socially, he's just not all there. He cried--yes, actually cried--in class just because he made a simple math error. Honestly, avoid this guy at all costs

Obviously a very intelligent man. However, he's by no means a good instructor. At times, it's as though he operates on an entirely different realm and simply cannot see things from the students' perspective. He's a nice enough person but not the least bit interesting as far as his teaching styles go
