His tests are terribly hard, I am an A student and barely made it out with an A. I fought for my grade and the lab is the thing that saved me. My classmates who asked me for help barely passed if they did. He doesn't prepare you for your tests whatsoever. Read the textbook and do it on your own.

Take A&P before this course. Exams are brutal, he doesn't care whether you pass or fail, & lectures were poor quality in comparison to the difficulty of exams. He talks about how you should have taken his comparative course instead b/c he doesn't like human anatomy. The textbook teaches better than he ever did. Save your $ & avoid this prof

Honestly I am not sure what he even talked about in lecture besides how he grew up. Does and doesn't really use the book. Took him a whole month to upload powerpoints online for notes. Test was basically all vocabulary and study off the powerpoints. Very monotone and boring.

He is a great professor and I thoroughly enjoyed my class I took with him. He does not make it easy and his lecture exams are more difficult than the lab practicals but he pulls all of his information for tests and lectures from the book. I skipped more than I should have and managed to pass but it is not easy.

DOES NOT LIKE TO USE BLACKBOARD, so grading will be wonky. Stay on top of things or you will not pass. Make sure your grades match up. Is all over the place so be prepared to learn on your own. this class is not a fly by class. what you put in is what you get out sometimes.

He's going to recommend you buy literally $600 worth of books. Don't. You will only need the required materials. The class is interesting and rewarding, but painfully hard. It is by nature hard, but he seems to relish making it unnecessarily hard. He gets very behind in lecture. Try to avoid taking with a busy semester.

If you study the book, you will do fine. I only attended class because he gives out pop quizzes (which are very specific). I do not recommend taking him, but if you choose to study the book like crazy.

He is a solid choice for anyone passionate about wildlife biology. His class is challenging, but he will work with you and answer questions all day long if you show a willingness to learn. The textbook isn't used frequently, but is a good book to have.

DO NOT take this professor! I am warning you now. 100 question tests and no reviews. Just received an email from him today about an upcoming test. He tells us it will be over 7 chapters, but we're not going to be able to cover all the material so we will be responsible for reading and understanding ourselves. Do not take this mans course!!

Took him for Vertebrate Natural History. This class was extremely difficult. Between the lab and the class it is a lot of reading and studying. You have to stay on top of things or you will not pass. Not an awful class just a lot of material that you need to know.

Great professor who is always willing to help. CVA is just a very difficult class with difficult course material. STUDY. FOR. THE. LAB. PRACTICALS. Study like your life depended on it. VERYYY time consuming, but an A is possible.

He's a good prof, CVA is just an otherworldly kind of hard. DO NOT take with 16 hours, you simply won't have time. If you don't put in 20+ hours/week studying, don't expect to do well. 100% memorization. I thought I was good at memorizing until I took this class. Take with a realistic course load and put in the hours outside of class/lab!

This was a very interesting class. My favorite Bio class so far. Labor intense, specially in the lab, but well worth it. A lot of people disagreed, but you just have to be willing to spend a lot of time in the lab.
