Comment:

Ms. Watts can speak for hours without anyone else talking but her class is very easy. Just three tests, one project at the end, no final. I wish there was more group work but looks like this specific class did not require it. She's a great teacher but can be very boring at times. However, she is very helpful and she has this awesome dog!

Comment:

Nicole's class was very difficult for me, but she went the extra mile to help me with everything, I started off getting a B- and C+ for the first two exams, and with her help I got an A on the final exam. Don't be afraid to ask her for help she's incredibly kind!

I would definitely take one of her classes again. Her class was very engaging and interesting. She does assign long readings, so be prepared for that. As long as you attend, pay attention, and put in the effort you should do well. She also gives plenty of extra credit so there shouldn't be any excuse why you can't do well in her class. She's nice.

Nicole Watts is a social scientist of the finest caliber. This class was thoroughly engaging. It was high up there on my list of favorite classes in all of college. The only bad thing I would say is that she makes you print out a TON of PDF files and bring them to class rather than just make you buy an simple course reader.

Nicole Watts is an amazing teacher & smart academic. What I did not like about the class was that it was so boring. I found myself falling asleep a lot of the times. I think not being from the regions she lectured about made me lose interest. Her lectures are super long, and she assigns crazy long essays. Expect to write 15+ pages.

I'm minoring in PLSI and took this class out of interest to me. I learned a LOT from this class and from professor Watts, although she gives LOADS of work. There is no required textbook, 2 exams, 1 group research project, multiple quizes and many reading responses and discussion forums. All in all, a good class to take.

Don't take her online class expecting it to be less difficult than a normal offline in person class. Class is structured in ways that any positives(no attendance grade, go at your own pace) you may think you are getting with a online class are not present.

She is a wonderful teacher and has a very organized and clear teaching style. I got a lot out of the class and enjoyed the work so much that I did not realize how much I was actually doing. She remains very fair and balanced while teaching controversial subjects which I think is awesome. I definitely recommend her for any class.

She is GREAT! Very nice and helpful if you have any questions. Textbook is cheap but used A LOT! Make sure you read and go to class which is the basis of each test. There are 3 exams (m/c, t/f, short answers) and an 8 page paper which was pretty chill. She is very engaged in her student's learning ability. There is extra credit available.

Comment:

Nicole is an awesome professor! Her tests are somewhat challenging, but definitely passable (with extra credit and great review sheets) and her grading is fair. This course relies heavily on her course reader, but it's only like $20 and her selected readings are really interesting. I would definitely go out of my way to take another class with her!

Her Social Movements covers about 6 social movements that you must know EVERYTHING about. (dates, people, effects, policies, EVERYTHING) Very good class if you have attention to the finest detail. A good history class, not Poli Sci.
