Do not take the class if you want to slack off she took off half of the quizzes and added writing assignments the writing assignments are brutal sometimes she wants you to watch 4-5 videos and write 2 paragraphs 5-6 sentences long of all the videos her quizzes are easy

you are required to read chapters without any explanation or conformation on what you learned reading or what you should have learned from the reading. she leaves no room for you to ask questions the lectures are sorta off topic of what we should be discussing. 2 mid point essays and a 15 qs quiz every week on the book.

Professor Barragan was very informative and a good grader. She explains everything in detail and is not a heavy grader. Just read the assigned textbook, study and you will pass. She also has a lot of great, inspirational stories to tell.

Her lectures were amazing! I struggle to get up early in the morning but, for her class I was excited to see what the lecture of the day was. I looked forward to attending class because her course is very thought provoking. She truly cares about her students. Ms. Barragan was a great teacher! Highly recommend and her class is very straight forward

Professor Barragan is inspiring. It's rare to find people who care so much. She is just so knowledgable and wants more people to get involved. She will introduce you to things that are mind blowing. Her class was so interesting that I actually read the book cover to cover. I had never done that before. It's a lot of work, but you WILL learn.

Prof. Barragan is a good teacher. Very simple in terms of how she runs the class; weekly quizzes and based on lectures. Bring your textbook every day and take notes! Interesting class too! Show up to class or else quizzes will be very hard. Read the chapters thoroughly and study it really good, youll thank yourself when the quiz comes.

I learned so many things in this class. She talks really fast. She gives a lot of info so you have to show up and pay attention. This is a great lady and a great teacher. Theres no time for taking notes so do the reading and remeber the terms. Keep your line of communication open and honest. participate in class discussions so that you understand.

literally the woooorst professor ever! beyond rude! the lectures and the readings from the books have nothing to do with the test! beyond boring, dosent respect your opinion with in the writing assignments. I hate to sound like a jerk but! I wouldn't recommend at all! run!!!! she doesnt care about making students pass even if you put the in work

Professor Barragan is one of a kind. Her class can be difficult if you don't like to read and skip class, but it's not unreasonable. Her lectures are so informative and she introduces you to so many issues that get overlooked in this country. She really has inspired me. Thank you for everything, Professor!

She has an abundance of knowledge. SUPER talkative. 15 quizzes (1/per week). YOU MUST READ. No HW besides reading and studying and two VERY SMALL essays due throughout the semester. Definitely no surprises clear grading and you will learn new things! Her class is not stressful at all but work for your grade.

This professor knows her stuff! Amazing with knowledge in sociology. Ask questions and expect a good answer. Her class was book/lecture based only. Quizzes (15q's) every week. YOU NEED TO READ. Nice teacher but heavy grader on essays. But, if you she knows you can do better on the essay she will give you a second shot.

Prof B. is awesome. This is college, everyone should expect to work. There are other sociology professors that will give you an easy A, but you won't learn anything. Barragan also really cares about what is going on. You have to read everything in the book, but the book is an easy read. Take her class so you will become a better person

Professor Barragan is one of the best professors out there. If you guys have problems to read 30 pages a week and take 15 question-quiz once a week, I have news for you: you shouldn't attend college. Also her lectures are very interesting and inspirational. I learned a lot! If you're ready for an adequate amount of work, you'll get an A.

Hard to focus because all she does it talk talk talk. I try to focus but it all just soooo boring. It's hard to be engaged. I look around the class and there is barely any one paying attention. Also quizzes ever Wednesday. No in between assignments for justification just talking!!

It is very important for you to have your book because all she does is talk, talk, and talk not about the book although. She thinks her opinion is always right and everyone elses' is wrong. Be prepared to take a test every week and read 30+ page chapters twice a week.

I absolutely enjoyed Professor Barragan and her lectures. I took her Race and Ethnic Relations class and I loved it. I never missed class, I did my class work/homework (not much of it), but most of all, I read!!! Her weekly quizzes are entirely on the the book, so yes, YOU MUST READ! I recommend taking her class if you want to learn.
