Comment:
Coming from someone who usually struggles with math, Lemay was an excellent professor for intro to stats. If you do all the work then you will learn a lot. For me, this was 1.5 -2 hours between each class. He was generally understanding of issues and willing to help.

Norman is an amazing instructor. He is really passionate about mathematics and wants his students to be successful. I took Calculus for the Mgmt & Soc. Sciences (Business Calc). This class had its challenges but the lectures were great and he is good at explaining things. Everyone in my class passed with no issues. I recommend him.

Difficult class just because of the subject matter. But I got a good grade due to his very lenient grading, and lots of extra credit. Very responsive, but responses don't always help. But even still, I would recommend him.

Not accessible or helpful in any way, when answering questions wrong or asking a question he makes you feel stupid. Group projects are horrible, but he made them exponentially worst by doing one in this math class. You want give him a chance but he insists on not being bothered. Lacks political correctness even in a very clearly diverse setting .

Comment:
Because lots of people struggle with math I expected a professor that is open and accessible, he is not that. He urges students to contact him as little as possible, often asks if his jokes are offensive and told my s/o with whom I was taking the class with, that he didn't trust me without ever approaching me personally about dishonesty.

Norman Lemay is a great professor. Make sure to go to class though because for his statistics class you learn a lot of new calculator routines that are crucial to the material in class. Great character and is willing to stay after class or meet before class to help you with anything you are confused on.

I worked really hard in this class. I learned a lot. Norman LeMay is clear about expectations, and gives homework every day to keep you on task. It is important to note that if you do your reading, the homework is an easy A. The online homework is open so that you can get a 100% if you work hard enough. He is an excellent Statistics professor.

This guy doesn't care about helping you out. Norman makes it the most time consuming and stressful class to deal with during the semester. Get ready for homework, "warm-up's" worth 5 points before every class, participation, major tests, group project. do yourself a favor and avoid at all cost.

I do not recommend this teacher. Does not excuse ANY missed work even with a Doctor's note. He designed this class to make it as difficult and time consuming on students. Was very disappointed in this intro course and the unnecessary overload of work.

He's a really good guy, an Army Vet at that. Expresses his love for statistics through his lectures. He shows a straight face but inside he's smiling. Assigns a group project at the beginning or the semester that is due during the end. He is an overall heavy grader on his 120 point tests, approximently 4-5 tests a semester.

Make sure you read the material. He does reading check ins to see if you read, if you understood the material and what "muddy" parts you have. Be honest. Test reviews are very clear as to what to expect on the test. He is helpful if you request it but you have to make sure you read the material.

Norman was not helpful in any sense. No matter how many times I told him I didn't understand the material and needed extra help he had nothing to say. I find that very frustrating. He loads on the homework and it's overwhelming. He defiantly is not a teacher for someone who isn't good at math and needs the class for credit.

Normal LeMay seems to have changed his teaching style since these last reviews. He is very helpful, has a lot of assignments but they help you understand the material so it's worth it. He creates programs for your calculator so the formulas aren't overwhelming. Just do the homework and go to class and it's hard to NOT get at least a B.

Math is a difficult subject for MANY people - w that being said, I don't understand why Mr. Lemay is a teacher. There is not an ounce of him that looks like he enjoys coming to class and teaching his students. You often feel stupid for asking ANY questions in class and he moves so quickly in class. Needs to reevaluate why he became a teacher!!!!!
