Very unkind and unhelpful. Slams you afterwards for not doing things you couldn't have possibly known to do. Very unclear in her instructions, and her mistakes are always blamed on others. Arrogant and never apologizes even when it becomes obvious the fault is hers. Best to avoid if you can.

VERY tough teacher. Her class was hard,too.If you ask her to help she will but obviously she treated differently the 'good student' and 'not-so good student'.You have to be 'good' to be helped by her.I had to write one page paper to every class.It was very tough.I did study hard.I got an A but I don't recomend her to my friends. she is just tough.

For the first couple weeks, I agreed with most other students: she was arrogant and had little faith that intelligent students were in her class. She openly insulted Education majors and was very unresponsive to the special needs student in our class--so much so that the student dropped the class a couple weeks after midterm in tears. However, I eventually found her to be a very knowledgeable and thoughtful professor. Personality flaws are an issue, but her depth of knowledge and insight is not.

I didn't take a class with this prof, but she came in to my native american lit class to listen to a group presentation. After the presentation was over she completely ripped the group apart. I felt so bad for them. She was only supposed to observe. Needless to say her comments effected their grade.

Dr. Hollrah teaches one on the most well structured, culturally accurate, and important classes available at UNLV. She had a grounded knowledge in the subject material she teaches and is able to effetively articulate the relevance it has in contemporary society. I would definitly recommend her class

I was taking this for the summer and dropped the first day. She crams way too much material into a limited timeframe, even for a summer course, and it's evident right off the bat that she's a nightmarishly subjective grader. Disagreeing with her=bad grade

Didn't have too many problems with the class, though I can totally see how she belittles students and has little personality. I didn't mind the writings, as I am in an Eng. major, but I really disliked her sarcastic attitude and the arrogance she showed.
