Professor Burgess was a great teacher, she taught at a slow pace and repeated things over and over again. She made the work easy as long as you pay attention do the homework and study for quizzes and test you can pass with an easy A. There 4 test ,12 quizzes which she drops three of your lowest grades and a project and gives half credit.

Professor Burgess is AMAZING! If you have to take statistics, be in her class! She teaches at a slow pace and makes sure everyone understands the material. She also gives 2 projects that together are 15% of your grade, which both are an easy A. The material in this course may not be easy but she makes it as easy as possible!

Textbook is available at Library and don't need it for lectures. Always bring calculator and notes from day before. Only problem was that she dumbed the lectured down a lot. Maybe it'll help others but it felt very slow and I honestly stopped going but still passed ONLY because I was a Level 10 and it was a level 6 Math class.

Comment:

Prof Burgess is a great professor for people who are not good at math. I am not one of those people, so I found her class boring since she repeats everything many times to make sure people understand. That said, her lecture notes are awesome, she provides everything on blackboard if you lose a handout or have to miss class, and she really cares.

Professor Burgess is very detailed in her lessons. I know it helped a lot of people, but I personally found the pace of the class way too slow. I didn't feel engaged when I understood something the first time then she did it several more times. She's a very kind person, I just felt it was all too easy and we needed more independence.

I would go in for help and to go over tests, and her response was go back and look in the notes. Her lectures are really long and she is very dry. I had a really hard time trying to understand. Her tests are hard, it seemed like she would look to take points away then find ways to give them.

I got an A, and it's not because of this professor, at all. She makes the class pretty boring. Speaks quietly with no energy, students fall asleep in her class. Office hours? forget it. It seems like she's the type of person that does not want to help you (Might appear to be that way in class). I suggest you find someone more interesting.

Srsly the best math teacher u could ever have, esp for someone who isn't the best at math. Don't listen to the reviews saying she is bad. If u need to take Stats I TAKE HER AT ALL COSTS. She is very detailed so when she explains things so someone who hasnt taken math in years could understand. She also gives hand outs so you dont need the textbook!

One of the best professors I've ever had. Truly wants you to be successful in her course. Her attitude encourages students to want to learn! Her lectures can be a bit dry since she is so thorough but it'll only help you. I'm good at math,got an A, but if you struggle with math I would say definitely take her class, she'll help you however she can

She's one of the most caring teachers I have ever had. She really wants you to do well and as long as you show effort, she is more than willing to help you. She does everything she can do to make your semester good. She does teach very slow though so if you're a fast learner like me, you will get very bored in her class. But you'll do great

Professor Burgess was so organized and caring! One of those teachers that you can tell actually takes an interest in her students well-being. She was always available for questions, before and after class, she went thoroughly went through the material, made it so I did not have to open the book once because of her detailed notes and review sheets!

As far as professors go - Burgess by far has been one of the best I have had. She is very concise, very organized, clear on expectations. What is best is, that her style of teaching really works! Statistics for me was intimidating at first, but now, I love it! I attribute that to her - Would definitely take again and again!

Professor Burgess teaches the course material clearly. She makes sure that there are enough examples for you to completely get the problems. Although the class can get boring, she maintains it well. The only thing that i didn't like was that she would not let you work with the person next to you on example problems;which helps me learn.

Professor Burgess is by far one of the most helpful teachers you could have. If you struggle with math, this is the lady to have. Personally, I couldn't stand the class. However, this is about the teacher and she really is top-notch. She's not all too entertaining, a bit monotone, didn't hold my attention for the full 80 minutes.

I love her ! she is a little old fashion and I love it. she takes a lot of notes and goes over everything. she helps in every way if you miss a class you can get all the work on the mdrive or at her office. very easy grader, on a quiz I put the wrong answer bc I forgot to add the cents and she gave me full credit anyway. highly reccomend

I entered this class expecting a math course, and it's really not. It's a vocabulary/computing course. You learn how to pull information from a set and add it to a formula to get an answer. As such, I found this course very difficult. The professor, however, was very clear, gave excellent notes and was always delighted to make time to help students

Her course is very well designed, the assigned problems and notes are very clear and exactly what you need to know. If you master exactly what she gives you you will do great. She tests exactly on what she discusses in class and literally tells you what she wants you to know and to be able to do, but you do have to think about it and study.
