I had Mrs. Elliot for Special topics in 70's. The films you watch are potentially life changing for a film student. The depth of the presentation of her material was amazing. Take notes, take notes, response papers are expected to be extremely thoughtful. ask her anything about film and she will discuss it with you, most intense film class ive had

You really have to work for your grade in this one. Once you've proven you're ready to work, she's very nice...she's just strict on grading. I'm sure she's better in smaller classes than larger, but she still takes some getting used to.

You'll learn. . . oh, you'll learn. She does love her subject, but her demands are unbelievable. MED 300 is supposed to be a fun class. With Elliot, it isn't. It's tough work. You also get the vibe that she doesn't have a whole lot going on outside of class. There were times when I felt like I was being harassed by her. Be careful with this one.

Mrs. Elliot is a teacher who knows her stuff. I took her Spec. Top. in 70's film class. Fav. class of the semester also most difficult. Take her if you absolutely LOVE film or want to know more about it. You MUST take notes and attend class. I loved Mrs Elliots knowledge of film and her interest in really wanting students to understand/enjoy it too

If you like to write 4-5 page papers in less than 24 hours then this is the class for you. supposed to be an easy A, it is just dont take her. you basically have 3 papers and a 2 tests and if you dont do perfect there's nothing to pick up your grade. Video's dont provide much help on tests, just read the book and memorize dates and terms.

Dr Elliot was my internship coordinator. She constantly threatened to not allow me to get credit even before the internship started. she said negative things about the company i worked for and was overly condescending and blatantly rude. Made me wish I hadn't taken it to begin with.

The negative comments are all left by people who don't want to have to work for a grade. She expects you to put full effort into your work and as long as you do, she will definitely grade fairly!She knows her stuff and you WILL learn alot from her...you just have to be willing to learn. She takes some getting used to but she's definitely worth it!

Worst teacher I have ever had. I had serious medical problems and the university backed up my problems and she over looked the medical documentation and the university dismissal. Don't Take her. She acted this rudely for a Telecom Course!!! Ridiculous. I have never been treated so terrible by a proffessor in my college career.

I had taken MED 274 with Pat and found it a bit frustrating, but it was my favorite class of that semester. I'm now in a Italian Neorealism class and it's amazing. A smaller class size allows her to shine and share her love of film. Lots of reading, but interesting. Pat rocks!

She is a horrible teacher. I would never EVER take another class with her. Some of the movies shown are terrible and are hard to watch with out falling asleep. Her tests are hard do not make much sense. STAY AWAY!

She is horribly hard to understand. She's one of those old chain smokers, she still has to take a break in the middle of class to smoke, and you can barely understand what she is saying. Besides that you just watch movies so its great.

This was a great class. She was hard to follow sometimes because it was hard to hear her, but she made up for that by showing a movie every single class. that was awesome. her test were really hard but the class was fun.
