Comment:

Classes moved online because of Corona Virus. He did not take it well. He was not very good before classes moved online, but he got exponentially worse when we moved online. Not tech savvy. No boundaries. Lectured for 6 hours a week instead of the 3 we all agreed to, students and teachers both. Difficult grader to the point of being nitpicky.

Y'ALL. Boringest class ever! A 50 minute class feels like 2 hours. The class started out with around 60 people, only about 30 are left. The class is hard because he lectures ridiculously fast and gets frustrated when you ask too many questions. He gives quizzes weekly which have brought down my grade by a whole letter grade. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!

show up to class and you'll be fine. If you had questions he tried his best to explain why answers are the answers in different ways. You have to put in some work but worth it.

Fawcett is nice and really wants his students to understand the material so ask questions and pay attention. Lectures are fast and intense. If you're lost, STOP HIM and ask questions. No dropped exams and homework is counted as quizzes. He selects specific questions to grade for homework credit.

Comment:

Look I wont lie this class is horrendously boring. It's not that hard of a class since Fawcett will go over the problems again and again until you pass out in boredom which makes the tests go over easier. The (4) Exams are extremely important and worth 90% of your grade. Do the reviews he asks you to do and you'll be fine.

I didn't think I would like calculus, but Paul made me love it. He explained everything in detail and would always go back if you had a question. He encourages you to use his office hours if you need them, and he is super helpful when you go to him. There is a lot of homework, but it helps with the tests so make sure you do it and you will pass.

Reviews are the best part of this class because he tells you formulas you will need on your notecard and goes over practice exams that are similar to what is on the exam. Gives good explanations of problems and eager to answer any questions. Likes when the class participates

He does math at an extremely fast pace. Doesnt explain his work, just goes through the motions and expects everyone to follow along. Uses odd acronyms. The examples he uses are advanced and hard to follow along. Dont expect to learn from his class. Go to tutoring to learn and hope for the best.

Fawcett is incredibly picky on grading. He never outlines what he expects of the student, not even the syllabus. If you have to take him, attend his office hours as best as you can, but he is a professor I do not recommend. I dropped this class because of the ridiculously fast pace he lectures, the little sense he makes, and his useless tangents.

Great teacher. Follow the section lessons, talk to the graduate assistant for help. You will like and get into Engineering school taking his class.

Does not recommend. HE IS NICE but he is one of the hardest graders I ever had. You have to write procedures exactly match his own preference. The lectures are NOT that important, the attendance is. What is also important is the external lecture he held outside of the class (what he called calc table), he won't tell you that DOES TAKE ATTENDANCE!

He is the absolute nicest professor! You really have to go to class and pay attention because he moves quickly. If you go see him one on one he is so nice and helpful. He really wants you to do well and as long as you put in the effort you will be fine!

Fawcett was hands down my favorite professor! you just need to take the time to study his notes, his notes are exactly what is on the test, if you go to his office hours it helps your grade tremendously

Look, Stats is hard. Fawcett does his best, but if you don't know math of course, this class is hard. He does go quickly, and you have to go to class. There is an online component that can be a bit much. To get a good grade you have to see him outside of class, and really study on your own. It's a hard class but manageable. pF helps you to pass.

Professor Fawcett is amazing with one-on-one help. Statistics is a very tricky subject in itself and I feel as though Professor Fawcett he moves quite quickly in lecture which leaves a lot of gray area. I don't want to pay a lot of money to learn nothing. I spent hours reading and doing the practice questions. He's awesome if you stay on top of it.

He is the toughest grader I've ever had as a teacher, especially for a math instructor. His lecture pace is very fast, and he mumbles. The examples in class are manageable, but he grades homework and tests so unfairly that you'll question if he'd even grade "2+24" as correct. I'm retaking this class next semester with anyone other than him.

He's helpful when you ask for help but sometimes his lectures are confusing. He is the toughest math grader I have had. He will mark off 3/10 points on a problem for missing one symbol. Take Kevin Burns, you'll get a better grade.

Paul is a horrible teacher. He goes way to fast in class. And then just expect to understand the material after just one example. I would highly recommend taking Math 180 with literally any other Calculus professor.

Paul Fawcett is a pretty good teacher but he confuses himself sometimes. He also writes everything on the chalkboard in the most horrific handwriting and he goes super fast! He takes attendance everyday
